II and IV are outstanding, but won't watch the others again, esp I. That has to be about the most boring space movie I have ever seen.

Watch the director's cut of 1. Still too long (literally and figuratively), but much better than the theatrical release. I'd love to see a 4k "final cut" of 1 where they clean up the image/sound, cut the long boring 2001-esque scenes, but leave in the added scenes from the director's cut.

Thanks for the tip! I saw the original in the theater and can't remember who I was with, but I think they fell asleep.

Lol. Yes. Many people did fall asleep. Some referred to it as Star Trek - The Motionless Picture. Haha. The DC isn't a revelation, but it is better. Grab a strong pot of coffee and give it a watch.

Does this have the director's cut of II or the theatrical?

No love for VI?

As the saying used to go before Nemesis, the even ones are good and the odd ones are bad

Any rumors of these movies going to 4k?

Star Trek #1 ("The Motion Picture") is quite slow and easy to fall asleep watching. However, Jerry Goldsmith's soundtrack is beyond awesome (especially "The Enterprise" track) and if you are a ST:TOS fan, then you watch it because you like the characters (even if Shatner's rug is distracting and the uniforms yucky).

We all know #2 and #4 are the best and most enjoyable of the 6 movies. #3 is OK. #5 is the worst (Jerry Goldsmith's soundtrack helps but it's nowhere as good as #1). #6 is above average.

Pretty much if you don't already like ST:TOS, you probably won't want these movies. This set has been on sale so many times over the years.

I have the ST:TMP soundtrack on my phone. Lol. Have you watched the Director's Cut?

That's a nice deal for all 6 movies. The name "Original Motion Picture" Collection is a little misleading since the first movie is titled "The Motion Picture". It might be better titled "Original Cast Collection". At first I thought this was only for the first movie.

No and I don't expect CBS/Paramount to invest heavily in new masters for the latter Star Trek sequels.

Yes. I saw the Director's Cut once, and I should watch it again soon.

I must be in the minority, but I really liked the first one. Took ST in a more 2001 vibe. Yes they could cut an hour. But as a fan that 20 minute eye candy scene showing the enterprise was amazing after years without a new episode.
