Two things: -

The Quality of of the Display. It is not very bright and the color gamut coverage is really very mediocre. However, at this price point, most laptops with decent specs come with similar display. Plus point is that the display is matte and you won't have glare and perfectly fine for indoor use.
The Battery size is smaller, compared to other laptops at this price range. However, due to use of efficient 7nm AMD Processor, you will still get decent battery life with normal usage.

However, it has lot of plus points as well: -

Build quality is very good with full metal construct, compared to part metal of fully plastic in laptops at similar price.
Very good selection of ports
One upgradable Ram slot.
Dual Storage option.
Good security with Fingerprint Reader and privacy Shutter
Windows 10 Pro

The ThinkBook and Thinkpad series Laptops are very easy to upgrade. This just needs removing the backcover and everything you can access after that

Looks like a decent deal on a mid range non-gaming laptop. Are there any major flaws that I'm missing?

How easy is it to return a laptop to Lenovo, assuming nothing is wrong with it? For example, let's say I don't like the trackpad (not smooth enough) or I don't like the keyboard? That sort of thing. Would I have to pay to ship it back? Any restocking fee? Do they only accept such returns if there is a hardware problem with it?
Lenovo does not have any restocking fee as far as I know, unlike HP where if you return the Laptop just because you did not like it.

By any chance do you know how easy or difficult it is to upgrade? I heard some laptops can be a PITA to upgrade

So I just picked up the HP Pavilion Ryzen 7 lappy from Costco last week for $650. Would this Lenovo be a better buy? Haven't been thrilled with the keyboard and build quality of the Pavilion.

The Lenovo is a $100 cheaper but the The HP has the 4700U, 16gb of RAM and 500gb.

This will be docked to a monitor and just used for Office, browsing, etc.

Getting the same thing. That's a shame, I've been looking for a system for my mother ever since she's been WFH. May have been a pricing error of some sort?

In general, the Ryzen CPU is superior to the Intel 11th Gen I5.

The Ryzen has more processing power and should use less power.
(Note: How AMD and Intel define TDP is slightly different and an Intel chip with the same TDP tends to use more power....)

The i5 may have slightly better graphics, but not significantly.

I would definitely not pay a premium for the i5 over the 4500u.
