Two things: -

The Quality of of the Display. It is not very bright and the color gamut coverage is really very mediocre. However, at this price point, most laptops with decent specs come with similar display. Plus point is that the display is matte and you won't have glare and perfectly fine for indoor use.
The Battery size is smaller, compared to other laptops at this price range. However, due to use of efficient 7nm AMD Processor, you will still get decent battery life with normal usage.

However, it has lot of plus points as well: -

Build quality is very good with full metal construct, compared to part metal of fully plastic in laptops at similar price.
Very good selection of ports
One upgradable Ram slot.
Dual Storage option.
Good security with Fingerprint Reader and privacy Shutter
Windows 10 Pro

The ThinkBook and Thinkpad series Laptops are very easy to upgrade. This just needs removing the backcover and everything you can access after that

I wonder when ryzen 5 laptops were selling for 1039.00 that's ridiculous even for msrp
Lenovo's list prices are famously ridiculous. Other than the first few weeks after launch, their computers are always on sale.

When is the next gen mobile Ryzens coming out?
I wouldn't expect laptops with U-series Ryzen 5000 APUs widely available before June or so. And those with Zen 3 APUs (5600U and 5800U) will likely be hard to find, compared with the rest, which are mostly a rebrand of the 4000 series (using Zen 2 architecture).

Getting the same thing. That's a shame, I've been looking for a system for my mother ever since she's been WFH. May have been a pricing error of some sort?
Did you replace the code like the description says? There is a code that's automatically applied when you click the link (THINKMAR). You have to replace that with THINKMARDEAL in the checkout. It gave me an error message but still applied the code and brought it down to $571.

What discount are you using? That's like another 9% off.

Healthcare worker, there's a button/link to verify with ID.me during checkout, but again, was doing this on mobile, and by the time I got to review order it said "Out of stock" but still let me order and the charge is pending on my Visa

Been watching prices fall like a rock lately. Should we expect to see them continue to fall in the next months? Looking for something new but not in a huge rush.

This Seems like a better deal than the Costco ideapad with similar processor, +8GB more ram, and plastic frame at $650 ive had my eye on.

Mobile site must be wonky. Using the desktop site I was able to place an order minutes ago without any "Out of stock" messages. 7% rebate too.

Im unable to make it work. It will accept the THINKMARDEAL code, but any method I use to check out (paypal bank account, credit cards, etc) says "payment info failed validation".

So I just picked up the HP Pavilion Ryzen 7 lappy from Costco last week for $650. Would this Lenovo be a better buy? Haven't been thrilled with the keyboard and build quality of the Pavilion.

The Lenovo is a $100 cheaper but the The HP has the 4700U, 16gb of RAM and 500gb.

This will be docked to a monitor and just used for Office, browsing, etc.
Costco is better. Better warranty too.

DP 1.4 output, so it should be able to do that.
