As someone that had an "Alien" box from Dell...and mine was on sale like this...you need to be aware of the guts. Mine for example had the slowest disk drive western digital sold and the slowest memory at that time...but it had a smoking fast processor and video card. I looked good and the specs on the surface were good, but I ended up replacing memory and disk and improved the speed...well a lot Smilie

Slightly off topic question-Does anyone actually game on their laptop screen? I personally would rather save a few bucks and just have a 60hz laptop screen, but maybe I'm the weird

Yes, I do in my Asus ROG laptop. My main gaming PC is in my office that my wife used during the day. So I game on my laptop until the home office is available. Plus it's great to travel and play while I'm at a hotel!

I do use a second monitor for when I work, so if it's a 60Hz it fine for productivity.

I had two additional NVME slots available too. I bought a secondary 1TB drive and cloned my gaming drive from my PC which has my Steam library. I love having my gaming laptop now.

IMHO... I would rather get a deal on a AMD cpu laptop at this price with a 3070.

I've had 3 alienware laptops, pretty good build quality compared to ASUS or MSI laptops when I would compare. I always add and change hard drives anyway. Sucks the ram is soldered though but it seems they keep doing that on laptops regardless of brand most likely a packaging thing.

They got rid of those call outs on the 3000 series for laptops, but based on this review it looks like one of the more capable mobile 3070's.

https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...-30-series

Still slower than the desktop 3070, may be closer to a 2070-2080 desktop card depending on the title.
