The sound is terrific. However there is a limited per micro SD card of 128gb. In addition, the music needs to be imported into the device. You can not simply insert an SD card and listen.

Buttons rock. You don't have to look at the thing to track fwd, volume down, etc. I know... silly. I'm such a boomer.

If you're taking the trouble to play your own music files supposedly on a hi-fi device... why the hell would you care if there's bluetooth on it? Some of these posts make no sense and clearly aren't the audience for this device.

I have the older model (NW-A45) and love it but there are definitely issues with Sony's dedicated players.

Pros:
Having a Dedicated music player - Frees up space on my phone.
DAC - means I know it's outputting my FLAC files properly. This was also my excuse to upgrade all my MP3s to FLAC files.
Tactile buttons
Portable with great battery life. This is perfect for airplanes (back in the day) or when you didn't have access to data/wi-fi.

Cons:
The PC software to manage your music is terrible. Use a 3rd party app like Musicbee
Software is sluggish even to scroll through your music. Hopefully this was improved
Buy this with the added cost of an SD card in mind.

doesn't support LDAC it seems.

edit: LDAC support isn't mentioned on Amazon's page, but other posters have pointed out that it does have LDAC.

Sony used to be kings of portable music players. Then they went proprietary with their sound formats and media storage and messed everything up.

There are other brands that make some for $1000 or more. Look up Chi-Fi , some come loaded with way more features, storage, and even decent OS loaded on them.
