AMCE tools has a METABO HPT-NR90AES1M framing nailer for $159 plus s/h and tax. They are also having a promotion for a free 100ft polyurethane air hose with purchase of the nailer (normally $39.99 on their site). Same promotion if you purchase the Metabo NR90ADS1M nailer ($179).

This is the best medium duty framing nailer for the money. The only guns that compare to it sell for much more.

This is identical to the Hitachi with new branding. It generally wins every shoot out or comes in second place for the past decade. The only reason it comes in second is it's lack of a rafter hook which is available for $20 on Amazon, and the aftermarket hook is a far better rafter hook than comes included on most guns.

I picked mine up on an Amazon Warehouse deal for $107 in like new condition. They have been on sale for a while at $149 at Amazon. I think the 100' hose makes this a sweet deal if you are in the market, even though I prefer two 50' hoses.
In short, the AES is a 21 degree nailer for use with 21 degree plastic collated nails (21 degree nailers are most common), the ADS is a 30 degree nailer for use with 30 degree paper collated nails. 30 degree nailers are more flexible in tight spots.

Definitely this. My dad was a builder and I went into it as well. Used Paslode for a long time. We had some equipment that was stolen and the new model is not as good as the older ones. I had some issues and at the National Builder show I talked to the manager of Paslode and a few other framers were complaining about issues. The manager said I better take care of your issues before I lose you forever to Hitachi. He made it sound like they built a better gun. So I tried one. It is way lighter, jams less, and the safety mechanism is not as aggressive with Paslode. By aggressive I mean it has to have 100% full pull back on the safety to fire. Others do not go that far back because with toe nailing you do not have the room to pull the safety back that far and it is annoying.

I picked this guy up on sale at Lowe's and have been hugely impressed for the price. Really lightweight. Make sure plastic collated nails are available around you, as local codes make different nail types be regionally dependent (or be prepared to order them ahead of time).

I got this slick deal, through the same vendor, about 2-3 years ago.
Thanks slickdeals!!!

Have I used it yet......No.
But a man is not a man unless he has a tool like this....so no regrets.

Besides, if I need it, I have it. Like if my wife makes me hang the family pictures or something.

I highly Recommend buying this item.

I can't vouge for it's quality and function, but can verify that it will boost your testosterone levels.
