I have been thinking of just replacing the light kit on my current ceiling fan, but I need to figure out what specifications to look for to make sure it fits my ceiling fan
Universal ceiling fans typically use a bog-standard threaded rod to connect the kit to the main housing. If you see that you've got hope, if not you're searching for an adapter specific to your ceiling fan manufacturer, if not the entire kit.
You can always get E12 to E26 converters. You can get a 15 pack on Amazon for $13.99. I don't understand why they do this with some ceiling fans, though. Maybe they have worked a deal with the bulb manufacturers, lol.
E12 on ceiling fans was the easiest path ceiling fan manufacturers chose to meet a mid-2000s regulation that limited the total lighting fixture wattage for ceiling fans. The best alternative implementation you see now, which meets that rule and a later restriction regarding the types of lighting that can be included in a fixture kit, is a fixture with medium sockets that also includes LED lamps within the package (which you could be trivial to replace for brighter lamps).

Ah, Typical, good ol' regulations. The E12 are typically more expensive, so I assumed that played a role.
The small bulbs are ok.. I have many properties and these will upgrade the Florida homes as well. Free Shipping so i will be doing seperate orders sent to sites here in AZ also.......
3 fans plus 3 12 inch downrods total with tax $186.50 thanks and repped!!

The cheap adapters are rarely UL listed and those few adapters that are (like the kind you might find at your local Home Depot) are significantly oversize for any fixture with exposed lamps. e12 to e26 adapters are really only an option in the subset of certain items like table lamps that use them in a way that provides room for the adapter and lamp combination while keeping both out of sight. (I have an IKEA table lamp for which the adapter and A-lamp still reside physically within the lamp)

"Having to use an adapter just makes the light stick out more than it needs to."
