The H8 is enhanced by Quantum Dot technology, raising the bar for picture-quality. Experience richer colors, more detail, better brightness, and smoother motion.

The fusion of Dolby Vision HDR picture and Dolby Atmos audio technologies create an immersive home theater experience.
More local dimming zones provide a higher contrast range and greater color accuracy.

Motion rate technology minimizes lag and provides fluid movement during fast-moving scenes.

With up to 700 nits peak brightness, scenes look even better in bright rooms or with HDR content.

Hisense's ULED technology and Hi-View chipset work intuitively to boost performance and picture quality.

In Game Mode, input lag is significantly improved, so your commands from the controller are virtually instantaneous on the screen.

With the Google Assistant built in, you can quickly access entertainment, get answers, and control devices around your home-all with just your voice.

I would be interested if it goes down to $400. Not a slick deal. Price history shows that it can go down to $450ish.

Why is it that we have these TVs with high ratings on everything but viewing angle? I'd like to know how much more expensive it is to make a TV that people can see standing 45-60 degrees off center. That way I know to look above a certain price range.

It's the nature of the tech. VA panels are bad with viewing angles. Some models (Samsung Q80T Sony X950h) come with an additional layer that improves viewing angles, but they're still not that great. If you want good viewing angles and keep the cost low, you have to go with an IPS panel, but those generally come with worse image quality. Your other option is to go with an OLED.

I have this TV. Picture quality is solid and the input lag in game mode is non existent. However, I just say the smart tv software on this TV is garbage. Even with fairly frequent updates it is still slow and sluggish and requires an occasional hard reboot. Nonetheless, it's solid budget TV outside of that.

How does this compare to the tcl r635? I just bought one from BBY for $800 (they currently have a 1 year return policy where you can also pricematch during that time, waiting for that walmart $578 deal to come back)

The R635 is $699 at Best Buy.

Here's a side-by-side comparo: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...1725/15791

I got it for slightly less and agree. It's a hard tv to beat at that size & price point.

Have the 75" version and not a huge fan of how it handles quick motion. Feels like a ghosting effect, but I may have gotten a bad panel.

I have the 65" model of this TV and love almost everything about it. Definitely punches above it's price. That being said this price doesn't seem that slick for the 55".
