It's been on and off this price since months, should go $1100 or below to make it a deal considering new models are out.

Not sure why the downvoting. At the price of $1150, it is still far superior and better than any other Ultraportable subnotebooks available in the market with Intel Processors while costing several hundred dollars less.
Just an example, the Intel based Rzer Blade 13 with an i7-1165G7 and GTX 1650 Ti, will cost you $1500. At this price, you can get newly launched HP Envy 14 with a i7-1165G7 and GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q and both the CPU and GPU on that laptop is significantly slower than than this one.

They knew it's better than other laptops for the price, they are just downvoting for not getting any cheaper. and they think this one should be like 50% off against the new model.

That was my point. This is still a very solid deal and it's just foolish to have some illogical expectation.

The downvotes are just because people are desperately hoping to find a Ryzen 5800 or 5900 laptop to buy with RTX 30x0 GPU, I know I am. Wife runs a business with a lot of 3D rendering (real-time and not) and needs to move the machine around every once in a while so I'm looking for a more portable DTR-class machine in the 15" range. It's a significant investment in money and, more importantly. time since a lot of shit needs to be migrated and set up so I'd rather pay a bit more for the bleeding edge than settle for last gen's tech.

Not that I downvoted, though - but I'm just speculating on why some people might be.

Can anyone who owns this laptop comment on build-quality?

I'm through with crappy plastic laptops that end up cracking, popping apart, or having hinges break from ordinary usage. It seems like many high-priced laptops have terrible build quality/hinges (with the exception of Surface laptops and Macbooks).

If you want to match that kind of quality then you'll have to pay the higher price for Razer's laptops. Everything else that's cheaper really paying for the gpu and getting a "good enough" design.

Ive had it for almost year of near daily use at this point. No issues with the hinges. Look at the subreddit for this laptop though, there's a few fixes you'll want to make right out of the box to get it working at its max potential. Some people have had issues with fan noise, coil whine, and speaker popping. I've had nothing like that though.

Yeah, but you can get a lenovo y or a legion 5 at about this price or lower with same specs or better. At least that's what you said when you posted the lenovo y deal and I commented to get this instead... that this didnt compare and the lenovo with an older chip was better.

That's probably why the downvotes, because you can get a lenovo 5 with amd for less.

Yeah but the Lenovo 5 is significantly thicker and heavier. There are very few gaming laptop as thin as light as this and they all carry a price premium

really solid build quality. i owned 1 for 3 months. it will play all your new games if you tweak the settings. the screen is a little dull if you are watching netflix or youtube, but for gaming its great. it feels chonky and built like a tank, while still being light. I didnt keep it just because i was able to snag a g15 3070. this sh*t bang.

yes but this laptop weighs 3.5 lbs! So — to be fair— your comparison to Ultraportables is not an apples to apples comparison! That being said I am just about ready to accept having the 0.6 to 0.8 lbs in extra weight and not having the 2 in 1 format I wanted in order to get all of these goodies —but only once the price on new is below $1000 so an excellent open box is about $900 or $850

Expect the performance from the GPU to be around the same as a 1660ti for people who are interested in this.
