I have the same 30" basic model from 6 years ago. Looks exactly the same. We absolutely love it. YouTube has some of the best videos for how to BBQ with it as well. We have done everything from meats, mac and cheese, even put smoke flavor into syrup. Being electric, I keep mine in the garage when not in use. My neighbor keeps his on his covered deck and hasn't had an issue yet, but he also keeps it covered. I got mine for $89 six years ago when Ace Hardware ran them on sale. Not sure what the best current sale price is. But it's easily worth $150 in my opinion. Easy to use, makes great food. Much easier than a green egg.
I've burned through two of these in six years. Love it. Really easy to use and great smoke. Home depot had them for 125 a while back. Their (masterbuilt) shipping is hit or miss. I ordered a tabletop model last year and it took a month to get. Some parts were missing and it took four more months to get it resolved. I'm currently using the mes140 which is the next size up.

How well does it maintain set temperature? I've honestly been wanting to get a double insulated one instead.

I bought my son in law the 40 inch version from Dicks this past BF. I don't think it's the same model number as it has a clear door and bluetooth. He's been smoking ever since Christmas and hasn't had any complaints. I think Masterbuilt is a well respected brand. I may try smoking myself, with this $150 model.

I have no complaints about the product. Buying directly from masterbuilt was where I had problems. Happy smokin'!
I try to put a general warning message anytime I see one of these low-end Masterbuilt electric smokers pop up on SD. I had 2 analog electric smokers that each lasted less than 6 months. First one pitched after element stopped heating. 2nd one I paid for a 3rd party warranty. MB took almost 3 months to ship a replacement part. By then I was fully refunded the product cost by Square Trade, so I had pitched the 2nd unit. Is there a better sub-$200 electric smoker than MB? I don't know but I will pay more for a better product with a true warranty.

I've used the version with the window in the dead of winter and had no problems with temp. It takes a lot of babysitting if you use the tray for wood. The mailbox mod is recommended, especially for using an A-MAZE-N chip tray. Combined, it's pretty much set and forget.

I've had this model for about 4 years. Got it at Wallmart for $99
Works great.
Coldest I've used it at was 9*F and it maintained it's temp no problem.
If you buy a monster sized turkey, it's easier and faster to split the bird in half, and put the stuffing in it's own dish to smoke/cook. The smoker looks big until you get a really large bird.
I use a bluetooth temp reader, and just drop the probes down through the vent on top
You'll probably need to add chips every 45 minutes for the first few hours of each cook.
I put foil over the drip/moisture pan, so it's quick to clean.
