Definitely not the most elegant solution, but a box fan with some filters slapped onto it will outperform this and save you some money. It's a true slickdeal.
A lightly damp rag or sponge will pull all that fine stuff off the wall without putting it all into the air. Spraying drywall dust with an air compressor is beyond dumb even with a respirator on.

Turns out inhaling tiny bits of rocks is less than ideal, even if those rocks are chemically inert. This is true on both coasts and the whole country in between. And its especially true when sometimes there is silica involved.

The fact that everyone you've come across either doesn't know or doesn't care that this is bad doesn't make it any less bad to do.

Have watched for a while also. $130ish is fairly common over past year. CCC says so too.

It was at $107 on previous deal few months ago. Lots of good comments there, fyi. Search for "WEN 3410".

Soon as I get my garage finished I'm in even at $135 : )

Watched video and read the article referenced in it. Didn't find either very "scientifically" credible (many claims and numbers thrown around, even a pretty excel chart, but where's the proof) so I can't say I'm convinced of the specific claims.

That said, I also haven't read through whatever scientific literature is available on the WEN, so I'm really just basing things on a large number of positive reviews, for better or worse.

Use of box fan and filters is somewhat tried and tested, and always seemed like it would work on some level intuitively, so given the lower cost I might just give it a shot! I'm not running a Level 3 Biosafety lab, after all Smilie

But, yah...the wen looks a whole lot cooler Wink

I bought one then and I am very glad I did. The difference is noticable, which creates a safer environment.

There are a lot of YouTube videos with the same DIY project. Not that it lends it any scientific credibility at all, just saying it's become a popular trend for air filtration on the cheap. I totally agree it's not about to win any beauty pageants lol. 10 out of 10 scientists agree the Wen looks way better.

Bought 3 of these ar 107.28. One has been used 24x7 since then, I think about 6 months. I will buy another when they go near that price again, but not at this price.

Damn, another thing I didn't know I needed! I'm just a weekend contractor, fix and build things at our house and use the garage when it's too cold outside. The air quality in our 2-car detached is not good when cutting and ripping. For $130, might just have to pick this up. Thanks OP!

Been watching these for a while. I really need one, but could use two. So, I'll buy one now and get another if they go even cheaper. Thanks!

Two 20 in box fans aluma taped together in series and a 20x20 filter works very well. I have used it to keep a network room free of drywall dust during office reno. Replaced the filter every few days. It would have a thin layer of dust caked on it. Also used it for drywall sanding. After sanding the walls we would blow them off with a compressor and leave the box fan filter running in the room to clean up the dust. Obviously you need to wear a respirator.

Yep, I run a few box fans 24-7 and they definitely make a difference. Keep an alert for some 20x20 filters and you're set.
