Just picked up an air snake for another blocked toilet unreceptive to my 12 Foot auger.

They have an in store special to get an 6ah m12 battery with it for free (not available online), which was a surprise to me. Returned the battery immediately for $91. 399-91=308 plus tax. This is the lowest price I've ever seen on this.

It comes with a m12 2.0ah battery and charger

Worked great btw. One more use and it's paid for itself in plumber costs.

Edit: seems to be available online as well (thanks Andytime) though doing this may not allow you to return the battery in store for the 91 dollar discount.

Great find. This seems to be the best out out of all the Milwaukee options. Covered sinks, bathtubs, showers and toilets.

A few other free tool options as well but battery best for in store return since ratchet isn't an option on this one.

maybe the in store only the OP mentioned.

Ah, return the battery from the combo to drop the price, one of the "hackable" solutions. I had wondered why there was mention of including the 2.0 battery instead of the bundled 6.0. Now I see the breakout described in the post.

I didn't know this tool existed until just now, and I need it.

This is one of those things that I don't think I'd use too often, but would save me a full day of swearing and/or damaging piping or paying someone to have a look when I do need it.

I've got the airsnake out of desperation in attempt to unblock a nasty kitchen line grease clog. Unfortunately, did not work in my particular case. It helps if the clog is nearby and you have a standing water all the way to the clog so the hydraulic shock can do it's job. Supposedly, it is powerful enough to work even if there is vent stack before the clog, but I would imagine it works better without one.

There are manual versions if anyone is interested, some as cheap as $50 (and there is always a plunger)

And then there is this:

(don't buy the home depot version, they tend to rupture)

Very true! But it's tough to generate 50 psi with a plunger!

This seems to imply that it's available online too. Thank you. I'll update the post

But buying it online is $399, without any chance of returning the 6Ah battery since it's included in the package.

In store, the 6Ah battery is rung up separately, and returnable, leaving the rest of the kit $308.

a drain bladder or even just some rags and a hose will do a similar thing. I recently had a bad clog that my auger wouldn't clear, and I just shoved the end of the hose into the clogged pipe and stuffed some rags around the edges, and turned on the hose, the clog cleared in seconds. Here is a video of how its done:

Stuff can get a little wet but such is life.

but i will say this is a cool tool that I wouldn't mind having if i had an extra $300. I do wonder if you could do the same thing with a portable air compressor and some sort of stopper fashioned in a way to create a seal so you can build some air pressure in the clogged pipe.
