Haven't had any good offer in a while after I started spending like a maniac after opening the Platinum card to get the account opening reward. Probably Amex thought I would spend anyways..

off topic but i am new to credit cards and buy some food and petfood off of amazon every month. i would like to apply for the amazon card with 5% cash back and am aware of the high interest and plan to just pay it on time but i was wondering if there is a better card out there for cash back or just one i should consider besides the amazon one. i have a discover secured card right now and 630 credit score.

If you buy a lot of stuff on Amazon like everyone on SD does, it might be worth getting the Blue Cash Preferred AMEX. It has 6% cash back at grocery stores, so you can buy Amazon Gift Cards from a grocery store to effectively get 6% CB on Amazon purchases (and groceries too obviously). It does have a $95AF but you can easily cover that and then some over the course of the year if you use the card a lot at grocery stores, especially ones like Kroger where you can earn points towards gas purchases at the same time.

You can do the same thing with Blue Cash Everyday with no AF but that's only 3% grocery CB, so might as well go Amazon card at that point.
