Makita has a similar deal post for a combo that does not include an impact wrench also for $229. I figured some interested in that deal may appreciate an extra tool and the lifetime service agreement offered by Ridgid.

In for one! This deal was at 199 late last year but just can't wait. Note this drill is the non hammer version.

Grabbed this when it was $199. Been a solid set. Rotated tires a few days ago with the impact wrench. Plenty of power.

Is it me or the new designs are looking a bit like a toy drill? The bottom handle where it meets the battery looks off to me.

I switched from a mixture of ryobi and milwaukee and I couldn't be happier.

Note: This is the subcompact set, which is their smaller, lighter, and less powerful line. Their Octane line is their top end, high power toolset.

I have a lot of Ridgid tools and like them a lot. However, there are a few huge advantages to Ryobi (which I do not have)
  • They have better prices/deals/specials
  • They offer way more types of tools, including many specialty tools (e.g. glue gun, outdoor equipment, etc)

Now they have a new brushless line of tools coming out with MAX OUTPUT batteries

I wish I could get a string trimmer and a proper leaf blower from Ridgid. Instead I'm stuck with Ryobi trimmer and battery adapter. AEG has these tools in Australia so it's not like they don't have the tooling already.

Likely don't have the licensing agreement. Ridgid is an established line in plumbing, they're very selective about what other tools they want with their name on it.

seems to be a very luke warm deal. Sub-compact are slightly inferior to the Gen5x/Octane version. Some may prefer lighter/smaller but not for me at this price.

I have both,.. Ryobi does the job on most of my projects. But when I need some extra muscle I used Ridgid.
