For those that don't have covered storage or shelter, this is great for keep your charcoal dry and protected from rain and/or outdoor elements.

I don't understand the gatekeeping and judgement
Why not just buy a few home depot buckets lol
Well see that's the funny thing about this design. These containers are designed for you to pick up and tip over to get product out of them without need of a scoop. The problem here is that they made a really big one and said it's for charcoal, which is a pretty heavy product...

Honestly, good container for something like cereal and those lightweight variation kitty litters, but not rice and charcoal.

Right? Not everyone has a garage or shed to store their charcoal. If you don't you're likely hauling the bag in and out of a utility room or something every time you want to grill. This will let those people keep their charcoal outside next to their grill. The same people complaining probably waste a lot more than $12 on stuff that's even less useful.
You make a good point but I doubt this will last a year outside. Clear plastic typically does very poorly under uv exposure.

I have the black and blue version of this and I love, it stays outside next the grill year round and haven't had any issues. It's been outside going on 4 years now.

I've had 3 of these for about 3 years..had seen them clearanced out while shopping at The Container Store. 2 hold cat food (indoor cats and "yard kitties" we inherited from the crazy neighbor cat lady...which I guess I am now- but at least I got them all fixed), 1 holds charcoal. Very durable. Going to get a 4th for birdseed we keep outside.

These are the perfect thing for storing wood pellets for smoking. Too bad I missed it, as I could use a couple more eventually for different woods/blends!

There what I'm doing. Container Store still at the same price if you've got one near you. Otherwise, Amazon price keeps fluctuating-keep checking

So a food safe bucket and gamma lid come out to about $12 and can't hold an entire 40lb bag of pellets making this a better deal

I concur with all the pellet comments. I have the non clear version of this. It is sealed air tight and keeps the pellets consistently dry. Definitely worth it for that application. I leave mine outside by the smoker and even when it rains for a week I open it and the pellets are perfectly dry.
