Great option for a cheap location tracking SIM. I often have to park my car in unsafe & high crime locations. My car has been towed twice (illegally!) while it was legally parked on city streets (shady tow company!), and several car thefts are reported in these areas every month. I have an old iPhone SE that I hook to a USB battery pack and put both in the trunk under the spare tire cover. I can open Find my IPhone on my main phone and see that my car is still where I left it, or where it has gone if stolen or towed. Runs about 10 days on the external battery pack, and uses minimal data. This type of SIM is perfect.
I have this plan. Here are the add-on costs:

$10.00 - 1000 Minutes Top Up
$2.00 - 100 Minutes Top Up
$5.00 - 250 Minutes Top Up
$10.00 - International Add On Credits

$5.00 - 250 Messages Top Up
$2.00 - 100 Messages Top Up

$10.00 - 1 GB Data Top Up
$15.00 - 2 GB Data Top Up
$2.00 - 100 MB Data Top Up
$5.00 - 250 MB Data Top Up
Any phone is an emergency phone, they all dial 911.

I'm not a stakeholder for this post, merely responding as I purchased 2 of these plans for low use lines. This is clearly written in the listing:

Remember, our add-ons do not roll over cycle to cycle so if today is the last day of the 30 day cycle for your service and you're out of texts, it may benefit you to wait one day for the new 30 day cycle to start. However if you need the additional minutes, texts or data, you can refill directly through your Red Pocket account from your mobile phone or your desktop!
hi Blunty!
I was basically just saying to the OP , to include what you just wrote in the first post of this thread, because if I had seen that, I would not had to check Red Pocket out. After Tracfone 1 year deals, I could never go back to plan where if you don't use it you LOSE IT. With Tracfone if you don't use it, roll it over year to year to NEVER LOSE all those past minutes. Is the Tracfone plan you mentioned with rollover currently available? What's the cost per month?

Would appreciate if someone has some idea from historical sales and would share.

Yeah, it is pretty much always available, but the prices do change when they go on sale. Every xmas time, I can pick up 1500,1500,3gig for 20 dollars for year of service. Last month is was 30 dollars on sale, lots of people bought them.

Tracfone is just another option, that is all, Red Pocket might be just the right choice for people that are using it right now and is cheaper than what they were using.

This is the type of service I imagine a hitman or dealer using, someone who just needs to make a phone call or too and then destroy the phone alone with the evidence. Good deal if that's your line of work.

Here is the deal from last Christmas. It was 1,200 min, 1,200 text and 3GB data for $20:

Here is the deal from last month (April 2021). It was the same deal (1,200 min, 1,200 text and 3GB) for $40:

You can get this same price from pageplus... you pay $10 for 4 months but instead of a set amount of minutes, texts, and date they charge from the $20 you paid 6 cents per minute, 6 cents per text, and 5 cents per mb. While you do get more minutes and texts in total from the redpocket deal, from pageplus you do not have to commit to a full year and you also get service from the better verizon network. The price will be the same at $30 for a full year.
Wait... $0.05 per Mb of Data?
1 Gb = 1,000 Mb (if I remember correctly) ... so 1,000 x $.05 = $50
Don't know if I could live with those figures

I just placed an order to get a new GSMT sim card. So I can use my GSM-only phone. But I found that Ebay started to charge sales tax on the prepaid plans. Last year, it did not charge sales tax at all.

Is there a way to get this monthly plan to autorenew or do you have to do it manually at the end of the month?

This is false. It is not pretty much always available. Those are sales and the $20 sale was once in a lifetime so far. So you'll have to buy when it's inopportune instead of when you really do need to top up. The only reason the TracFone deals work is these people don't mind spending for extra minutes. If you are a light user and only want to pay when you need the minutes, red pocket or page plus is better.

Ask the TracFone people how many top ups they've done and when their minutes expire. Most probably have spent hundreds and minutes don't expire until 2030. Imagine if you invested that money instead.

I'm not sure you understand what I am saying. I have bought 5-1 year annual plans at 20 dollars a piece and it gives me 5 years when I do that, and I put it on one phone number. And the last few years I just have to wait for xmas sale and stock up. So yeah 100 dollars for 5 years of service (1200, 1200, 3GB) x 5 on one line. Also I did buy tracfones cheap that came with 1500/1500/1500 mins for 29 dollars for phone and yearly plan and all can get transferred to one phone number. So we are talking 100 dollars for 5 years of service. So there are yearly sales that I look for and many of us look for, but it's 1 year service plan, not 1 month.
Red Pocket mins don't roll over at all. So after 1 month, your balance is 0. If some months I don't use the tracfone service that much, all the minutes get rolled over and are never lost. And if I need a refill which I have never had to do, those added minutes are good until 2028 for me (end service date).
Tracfone may not be good for you, and Red Pocket might work better for you. I was just giving another OPTION. I sincerely hope you buy the service that works for you.

I thought you have to activate plan within 30 days so how were you able to activate 1 plan after 4 years purchased?

Red Pocket has this "deal" on their website:

Unlimited Minutes
Unlimited Text
1GB High Speed Data
GSMT
$10 a month

Is there a way to get this monthly plan to auto-renew or do you have to do it manually at the end of the month?
