This is pretty good quality machine, my uncle has two of them with regular use. They were a brand name and this particular model began in an indiegogo campaign. They may be lowering price because they are about to launch a larger EP500 model on kickstarter in four days. It will be very popular, but the price is too rich for my blood.
Debating whether to bite at this one. It can even charge a Tesla for a few emergency miles.
I'm in the process of planning to build a teardrop camper. Seems like this would be an easy way to simplify both 12v and 120v power needs. I could also use it when tent camping. I have a small generator, but you can't always run those at night.

If this is enough battery capacity for you, it's tough to beat. If you build your own system, you'll need: a shore charger, a solar charge controller, an inverter, breakers, cabling, ports, and tools to put it all together. If you need more capacity than this, it can make sense to DIY, but it's tough to beat the ease.
This uses lithium iron phosphate cells, which are very thermally stable and pretty much impossible to burn up.
While LiFePO4 cathodes are relatively safer compared to other cathode materials as far as lithium ion cells goes, they still exhibit thermal runaway characteristics and contain the same flammable electrolytes that make them a fire hazard. Completely misleading to say they are stable and cannot burn.
Except when there is no power at the gas stations. Texas went several days without any power and that means the gas stations didn't have power either, so no gas. If you run out of gas ion day two or three, what do you do then? Generators are just one step, now days you need a second source that can convert solar. I think we have to upgrade our plans now that solar power more available with units like these. That's my logic anyway.

I prefer propane. It's much easier to store and have ready.
Most of us don't have money or space for solar. It's hard to get something out of that investment. It also involves more upkeep on my part.
Edit: in Texas it was cold. Better get that propane generator ready. This battery isn't going to keep you warm for long.

Cool unit just not sure it's worth it for many folks. Cpap is about the only thing I can think of
