Cool unit just not sure it's worth it for many folks. Cpap is about the only thing I can think of
I can think of tons of situations this would come in handy. Especially if we have a power/gas outage in the winter time. Sure I could run a generator all night, or I can plug my electric blanket or electric heater into one of these bad boys and then solar recharge the next day. And who knows we may have an emergency where fuel is not readily available to power the generator

I prefer propane. It's much easier to store and have ready.

Most of us don't have money or space for solar. It's hard to get something out of that investment. It also involves more upkeep on my part.

Edit: in Texas it was cold. Better get that propane generator ready. This battery isn't going to keep you warm for long.
Not roof solar panels, portable ones for camping. But I understand your point. I have a duel fuel generator and have two propane tanks around, and two 5 gallon gas cans.

This is pretty good quality machine, my uncle has two of them with regular use. They were a brand name and this particular model began in an indiegogo campaign. They may be lowering price because they are about to launch a larger EP500 model on kickstarter in four days. It will be very popular, but the price is too rich for my blood.

Debating whether to bite at this one. It can even charge a Tesla for a few emergency miles.

For Tesla charging 8.5kW gas generator would make more sense.240V 30A

Exactly what I want going to reference.
If you don't mind building one, Will Prowse shows how to build a budget one in a milk crate that's serviceable, will last longer and be better quality. You can build something nicer, as well.

I don't think you're going to be able to run an electric heater off of one of these all night. Maybe an hour or two at most I would think...

Electric heaters do use quite a bit of power so if you run a 1500 watt you're barely going to get an hour out of it. I have a 250 w heater so it would get 8 hours. I just ran my electric blanket all night on a 300 w supply, it uses about 30 watts an hour

Contractors occasionally need to have a power source that is off the grid indoors where ventilation is a problem. I think one of the commenters here is talking about growing weed in a state where that is illegal. Probably runs a generator to one during the day then swaps it to avoid the authorities. But county law enforcement goes by facial recognition on an increasing basis due to budget. that's never smart to skirt the law. As for Texas and hooking it up to solar, the cheap infrastructure which used gas is being replaced by batteries because we are so reliant on electricity 24/7. We have to have it for work then rest and we can't be dependent on delivery schedules. The cost is going down but like mainframe computers which eventually resulted to PCs, businesses who can afford it who does the budget crunching and roi analysis pave the way for affordable technology. Is it possible to have a wind/solar vertical source for feeding it? Interesting but there are still some ways to go for something like this. Houses should be upgraded for the input of independent sources of electricity for batteries. It's a lot of steps but this is where businesses have their opportunities.

Where are the "Its not a generator" people that seem to comment every time one of these are posted?

Will Prowse (on YouTube) reviewed these and found them to be crappy. Quality is hit and miss. You may get a good one but you may get an absolute turd. At this price, do your research.

Do you suggest people keep a gas generator in their trunk/boot for emergencies?
