Tax the sharks and put their arses on stools .
As for the chair, I own two of these. My dad used to work at Herman Miller so I have some appreciation for the company and the history of this chair. As another commenter said, this model is not ideal if you're over 6' tall. I'm 6' 2" and rarely sit in mine, but the 'little woman' loves them.

To me, this is like that Supreme brand. They could spray the Supreme logo on a Walmart disposable plastic shopping bag, and people would fall all over each other trying to pay $1000 for one.
Then again, I live in North Carolina (grew up near High Point), so I'm a bit of a furniture snob.
I have some great leather couches that have some damage I eventually have to take down there to get repaired.
Someone earlier in the thread mentioned an eBay seller that no longer carries them, and there's so many crap versions out there, it seems like just picking one and hoping it's good isn't likely to have good results. Any recommendations?
I never brought myself to pull the trigger on any of them.
I think I was leaning towards https://urbanfurnishing.net/collections/modern-classics at the time.
It's very famous (watch any TV show, movie etc), it's part of MoMA design collection, it has a cult following and it might as well be a piece of art you can use as a seating.
Is it more comfortable or better made compared to knock-offs? No, not much.
Will it lose 50% of its value right away? Yes
Can you buy the original chair somewhere else cheaper? Probably, no.
