Great price. Bought one from dwr last year. If you are looking for the classic look, you will need to purchase the black MCL leather from dwr. If you're also over 6ft tall, you need the tall version. This is the full grain leather, standard height
It's an iconic chair that is obscenely expensive for what it is. I bought mine lightly used off craigslist for 2250. I recommend shopping around first.

I still feel regret for spending that much lol.

This is why so many "rich" people go broke or are actually living in a hole. Keep making "good" investments like these. This is not a SD by far. I thought SD was about NOT paying full price and SAVING money by offering alternatives or other merchants. Lol this chair is not worth $4500. It's not rare, they continue to produce these and for that price is clearly speculative.
None of your business to be frank. Yes there are people who shouldve put 4500 somewhere else but even then what are you to say things like this? I bought a bunch stuff from dwr, boconcept, and calligaris for example for my new place and i am doing fine and will do fine. I also die over a couple dollars of discounts on slickdeals.

This is the perfect chair to complement my Sennheiser Orpheus listening experience. I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

You should do some research on High Point, NC before dismissing it as just being from BFE.
Yeah. It's not like High Point is known as the furniture capital of the world [google.com] or anything...

If you think $4500 for an iconic designer chair is expensive than you have never shopped for quality furnishings. If you haven't heard of the brand, educate yourselves, there many other high end brands you could also be making comments about. Anyone buying one of these chairs won't regret it based on any silly comments here. They already own lots of other items of similar caliber and own the house(s) to put them in. They aren't going to go broke buying what some here think of as overpriced. Those are your fantasies not their reality.

An Eames chair will retain value, or even appreciate (with inflation) over time....I have one, bought 15 years ago for under $3K which I could sell for that much today.

Try selling your IKEA/Ethan Allen/Restoration Hardware furniture for close to purchase price down the road.

Having said that, it really isn't very comfortable...the back angle is too sharp (like 90 degrees)...the other Eames lounge (not for sale) is much more comfortable...if you can pick up a used one in good condition, they're a steal.

Sorry you live in a poor neighborhood, then.
You are 'sorry'? Was that an insult? Or just your inadequate try at compassion? I'm 'sorry' that people who make under $75K a year makes you sad. But I would rather be poor than live near people like yourself.Peace
BTW...you are confusing POOR with UNHAPPY. Anyone who needs to come on SD needing to degrade people probably lands in the unhappy pile.

Why not just get the knockoff for $500? Given some of the replies here, most probably don't know what a eames chair is.
