Of note: I did the 100 page book last time and the iPhone photos (HEIC) don't work, so I converted them to jpg and those all came out poorly in the book, but looked ok on the website.
Most likely Apple's fault, as they probably only want people to use their photo service.

Yes, HEIC/JPG from iphones always come out distorted. I just printed two books the last deal and some of my iphone pics (not all) that were cropped weirdly, or forced into a difference aspect ratio looked off. Not a huge deal but noticeable.

Phones are poor cameras no matter how they try to spin it.
