1. Cap1 allows only 2 personal cards & 2 business cards (but a few have extra grandfathered in) & co-branded cards do not count
2. Cap1 pulls from ALL 3 bureaus at each time for each application (3 pulls per application & averages them out!)
3. need at least 720-740+ mininum FICO according to data points from last several years (but other factors such as too high balances or too many inquiries in past year can cause rejection).. do not know of this year's mininum
so if you are APPROVED; please list your FICO score that got approved

how many new cards you got in the past 2 years because there is rumor that Savor cards have a 5/24 rule similar to Chase (ie; must be under 5 new credit card accounts in past 24 months)
Signed up previously with the $250 offer and was instantly approved. After receiving the card and using it for a week, they restricted my card because they had to verify my income. I had to e-sign an IRS form 4506-T for them to check my 2019 tax Return. After that, it took two weeks for them to verify and remove the restriction. They seem so strict compared to other credit card companies @.@

The average of credit history would have been already shortened once the new account is opened, so it does not matter whether or not the new account is closed later.
Exactly. If you cancel it after your bonus it's has zero effect on the average credit age. Only negative is the hard pull
CO Sucks, I just had to cancel my Savor card, wouldn't waive my Annual fee for this year even though I couldn't even take advantage of the car since both Sports teams I own season tickets to paused billing, and I didn't go to any entertainment events all year.
Every Credit card I own (amex/ and visa) offered something to offset the fees. CO did nothing. And when I asked to downgrade the card they said I couldn't do that either.
Why would they waive year 2 AF? lul? Weird expectation there.... The card has a AF, so if its a problem why did you sign up in the first place... CapOne is pretty easy going about waiving the first year AF. Thats pretty nice of them since most other cc's definitely do not waive the AF at all. I dont get why anyone would call them to try a gouge them out of a second year AF as well, they already comp'd you the first one.
Anyways, I did cancel my Savor as well due to the AF but I had that plan all along. I went with the SavorOne instead. Its pretty much the same thing anyways. I actually use the card for different reasons, the sign up bonus was just a bonus...
You say that all righteously, yet we did the exact same thing LUL gouge Capital One..... The offer I applied for back in the day was $250 back on $500 and first year waived automatically. I figured I would be able to get them to manually waive the second year that wasn't part of the offer, and if not downgrade to Savor One 3%, which didn't exist when I signed up back then, and is a much better deal for 99% of sd. I was fine with the non waiver of the fee but they refused to let me downgrade. Which in the end is probably just going to cost them because now I most likely get another sign up bonus. I've been a capital one member since I was 4 years old...I have a checking, savings, and an 8 year old cc that gets no rewards that I keep purely for the length its been open. I'm positive they're doing just fine lending out my money and making money on me, i'm not worried about them at all. Thanks for caring about Capital One's bottomline though, they appreciate your concern.
edit- also, as others have noted. the original version of the card was fee free and 4%. that ended shortly before i signed up. some are grandfathered into that deal. shame on me for trying to gouge into that....
I was told if u already have two capital one cards you can't get a third regardless of perfect credit.
Pretty sure this is ymmv, I already had 3 CO cards and was approved instantly for this one (10k limit).
I pay the balances on all my cc (not just CO) in full every month though so that may be a factor. My score was at 740 because of recent refi and Bank of America closing a card due to inactivity so no perfect credit here.
Edit: Just checked my CO account and the $400 bonus for the new checking account just posted also, I opened that in late december
I am curious what type of credit you had and who allowed a 4 year old to make purchases... Did you start driving at 5 years old too?
You really love making incorrect assumptions! I've been a capital one MEMBER that long...Capital one offers checking, savings, and credit card products. Moron.....
I signed up for this card 3 weeks ago and there was a $250 bonus at that time, you might look around for the $250 link somewhere. It may be expired now. I got my $250 credit already.
Capitol One is very conservative though so, they issue denials very easily.
Thank you for posting! I have Quicksilver & Walmart. So I would have wasted the inquiry!!

Btw, I use my capital one app to check my 5/24 credit status, it's clearly written there. Also, I plan to get rid of my Walmart branded card after the one year 5% cash back walmart runs out. I can still get 5% back at Walmart by buying Walmart/sam's/mastercard/visa gift cards with various 5% offers.
For example, right now chase has 5% back at warehouse...ie sam's club etc. We have three chase cards, so tomorrow I plan to buy a couple thousand in walmart/sams, maybe disney etc gift cards. I ASSUME Chase will give me the 5% plus sam's will give me an additional 2% as a Plus member. Can anyone confirm if my assumptions are correct? Thank you SD members.
edit...no 2% sam's plus on gift cards ..https://help.samsclub.com/app/ans...s-overview. Still 5% with chase on future sam's, walmart purchases is good. And an additional 5% off to any already discounted card.... ie disney, plus many other choices. If I was close to a Costco I would buy their gift cards as well. I will be at costco next month when discover has their warehouse quarter. If you are in the first year of your discover card, definitely max out their $1500 quarterly 10% cash.

I checked my credit report manual. most capital one cards are run thru Experian. But some capone cards.. like venture.. pull transunion & Experian.
