Microsoft Office on the web is available for free.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/m...or-the-web

Also, (and I just KNOW people will thread crap this) Windows Security Anti Virus is included in Windows.
I've been using it for quite some time and, in my opinion, works about as well as anything else.

There's also Libre Office, which I've used for years without any issues.

These are usually not legit and the listings get taken down by eBay quickly and sellers banned. Eventually the keys get blocked on Microsoft as well. Be wary.

i don't think you can get a permanent key anymore. since they rolled out subscription plans last year i have not seen permanent keys offered. when checking my employer discount page and my son's school all were subscription plans. i rather have a permanent key vs a subscription plan where they are auto charging your card yearly. 2019 i believe was the last of the permanent keys.

Just curious, do you have a link to one you are referring to. There seems to be a wide variety on ebay from what I found. I'm trying to figure out which ones are legit.

wish there was a bundle with mcafee. my lenovo computer came with a trial that just expired and they push mcafee. i do need office and without installing the antivirus program, seems to be the cheapest way to get an office key without a subscription plan.

cheapest and legit way to get office, if applicable, is through your employer/university. most if not all schools are part of microsoft's home use program. lots of larger businesses and gov jobs also have access to it. i think i paid 10 or 15 for office.

I just bought Office 2013 from here, mainly since it was cheaper than 2019, and adequate for my needs:

I've never used them. My perspective is that if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. These sites are usually reselling OEM or volume license keys which are not meant for resale to consumers. At minimum it's unethical--if that's not a problem for you that's fine--no judgement. At worst you run the risk of the keys being deactivated by Microsoft--maybe they won't, or maybe they will and you'll be out the money. Guaranteed the entity that sold it to you will not help you. You pays your money and you takes your chances

probably one of the reasons why the major software companies are more going with yearly subscription fees with cloud services. they have full control on how their software can be used as well as increase the bottom line by hooking in the yearly renewal fees. i think the days of new permanent keys are over.
