HyperX [hyperxgaming.com] has the HyperX Cloud Orbit S headphones for $209.99 (MSRP $329.99). Ground shipping is free.

This is one of the best sounding gaming headsets for the money if you're in the market for a headset with planar magnetic drivers, but don't want to shell out the $399 for the Audeze Mobius, which this unit is identical to outside of Bluetooth capability.

For price comparison, Amazon currently has it for $300.84, so this is a pretty good deal.

Great deal! This is only $10 more than their Black Friday price. I missed out on that, so pulled the trigger now. Reviews say the mic is garbage on it, but can be replaced and the audio quality is well worth it.

Then for $200 can't you get a better pair of headphones?

This is a pretty great deal for these cans. I'm almost tempted to get them just for listening as they are that good. Hm.
Any idea why it's being discounted so heavily like maybe they are about to release their version of the Audeze Penrose?

Because no one buys them since they lack a wireless feature. These have been hovering around this price since Black Friday... 5 months ago.

They aren't waiting to release a new product just to give these half a year to sell out.

I own the Audeze Mobius headphones, these are the same but without the head tracking. Highly recommend!

So it has a battery and requires to be charged but only works wired... Uh yeah I'm sure they sound great but I'll pass.

If I'm not mistaken, these also have the Waves NX head tracking feature that the Mobius has.

like are you serious the list goes on and farking on and on, nothing that razor makes has sound that competes with the best in the price range otherwise the people who purchase above would take them seriously lol it's marked up nike tier gamer swill for the masses with middle/lower sound for the price and a consumer friendly FR that is all.

this is for the mobius same headphones

there so my general impressions of how
10:05
this headphone sounds I would say that
10:07
if you're coming from a gaming headphone
10:09
and you've only ever had gaming
10:11
headphones like any other razor to line
10:12
up or the Logitech lineup or even some
10:15
of the Sennheiser gaming headphones this
10:17
is going to be a great upgrade in terms
10:20
of sound quality but the flip side of
10:21
that coin if you're coming from maybe a
10:23
high fidelity headphone like an HD 600[6XX $~200]
10:26
or 650[6XX $~200] or a DT 1990[DT990 pro $150ish] or some other
10:29
Odyssey headphone this is really gonna
10:31
seem kind of like a downgrade and what

literally buy a DT990 Pro and get $10 pads with fabric over the driver portion to restrict the treble and you have a much better gaming headset and headset overall good for footsteps, soundstage, movies AND most important MUSIC and with the extra what $40 left over you can get a modmic which is better than this shitty one anyway. If this was wireless it would be another story but even then you can get amazingly good wireless headphones with ANC and mic that is probably better an dnot in your face from between $35-$80 (taotronics soundsurge 46 new on ebay to new Anker Q30) that are lightweight, bluetooth, have ANC and mic and sound pretty damn good and before you say I don't know what I am talking about I own DT1990's, Modded DT990's, Sundara, 6XX, Galaxy buds, Galaxy Buds plus, a bunch of other headphones and TWS I won't even name, formerly Hyper X Cloud II as well as a handful of other ANC headphones under $30 formerly besides the two I listed above I currently own.... You do not need to pay this much for good audio but if you do pay this much don't get this POS there are literally headphones that are probably better like the two bluetooth ANC above I quoted for around $100 or less.... and before you go on blah blah planar blah blah Audeze the M1060C which runs around $270 has been quoted as a baby LCD-2C which is an $800 headpone even audiophiles buy so for the money that also curbstomps this in addition to the other ones I listed first as planars. Don't pay for some dogshit because it's marketed as gayming and has planar lmaooooo

The plastic cracks/breaks at key tension points on the headset itself. Known issue. I'm on a second pair that already cracked near the ear cups. I'd steer folks away from these especially since they lasted me under a year. My replacements cracked under 30 days of use - wasn't trying to stress them. Won't even bother returning/exchanging.

for hyper x basically taking a good design selling in bulk minus a Bluetooth receiver, discrete AMP and other tech for $100 less that is laughably bad being one of the priciest offerings by them that hinges fark it all up, same thing happened with the Drop Panda yet so many other companies making literally $20 ANC bluetooth headphones don't have this problem. Faulty hinges on headphones is probably the biggest red flag of a money grubbing company as weird as it sounds and if a company is money grubbing you aren't getting your moneys worth. Pathetic feel so bad for people in your position, if you bought it from Amazon I would demand an unconditional return no joke I have done things similar, I returned Hyper X Cloud II's 2 months shy of 2 years after my purchase because Hyper X support was stalling me. Issues like this are what make newbies not want to spend as much and actually spend less instead of spending a tad more for a good brand and an amp by putting them off.

You seem to know your stuff. What would you recommend for a wireless/bluetooth headset primarily for gaming and music?

I had the orbit s and returned it. Sadly the planar drivers seem to have a constant low level hiss (or hum) that never goes away. From my experience, most wirlessless headsets seem to have this issue. One of the few that do not is the blackshark v2 which I ended up keeping over this purely for this reason.
