All feit products I've owned are garbage and have either gone bad, are glitchy, or flicker (24 bulbs and multiple switches). Please spend a couple more $s up front and save yourself money long term.

I appreciate you sharing this deal, and I don't mean to threadcrap, but I dislike this product - a lot. In fact, I have over $30,000 worth of smart home products [google.com], and this is likely the worst one from a name brand.

Approximately 2 to 3 times a month, the light bulbs will disconnect from the WiFi for seemingly no reason. When that happens, I need to go into the app and re-add the bulbs. The process doesn't take long - if it works smoothly, I can do it within 2 minutes, but sometimes the bulbs don't add right away and can take up to 6 minutes. The issue is that when the bulbs disconnect, they change to their default color of warm white and flash nonstop. Imagine having a guest or family member in the bathroom and having the light bulbs flash, and the person's only option is to turn off the lights completely or live with it until the person finishes his or her business. Because I'm the only person with the app, only I can add the bulbs back to the app.

I use Lutron Caseta smart switches in virtually every room in my house other than the bathroom, where I use these Feit light bulbs because a smart switch could not be installed. I'll be getting rid of these lights soon and will likely not consider Feit smart products for a long while.

Update: Okay, it looks like lots of other people in this thread also noted that this product has a tendency to disconnect and flash, so I don't feel as bad about the negative feedback I provided.

I hope this helps and isn't too mean! Take care,
Tofu Vic
I was also facing similar issues. Now I flashed all my Feit bulbs with Tasmota and it is working fine now with local connection.

Feit in general as a brand is garbage.
Their regular LED bulbs last a pitiful amount of time.
Pretty much on par with old school incandescents.
I'd pay the extra for a quality brand.

How is this a Front Page Post when everyone is saying how horrible a product it is?

yikes. i guess i've been lucky with mine. i have some that are hardswitched and spend most of their time "unplugged" and they've never had that disconnection thing that others have reported. I also have some that have been running sundown-up for a couple years now with no problem there either.

at least there's the solid backing of costco's policies to protect you against lemons

I agree. For Apple HomeKit users, it's totally worth the $ to just get Hue. You pay yourself in time. I wasted hours trying to get these to work the way I'd like them to. With Hue it's dead simple (with HomeKit). I found a 4-pack of bulbs (they do shades of white not the higher price color ones) on Amazon for $40 (Amazon Warehouse Deals). Soooooo much easier. Granted I already had a hub, but these did Bluetooth too for folks that don't need full integration.

$5 a bulb is pretty steep. you are better off stocking up on the controllers. You can often get a controller for $5.

What controller are you talking about? These are advertised to work directly with Echo devices with Zigbee hub (Echo Plus or 4th gen Echo).

Completely agree. I have a house full of smarthome products and these are the only ones in years that have caused me constant issues (including the feit wall switches). I've already swapped out the bulbs and I'm going to swap out the wall switches this weekend, which is a pain. As much as I love the price, I'd probably avoid these.

Bought these at Costco, returned them after a week. Had one in each kids room, the would disconnect and freaked out my kids. From comment before says they disconnect because you turn off 2 times continuously. I used the app to turn them on and off.

They were 8 bucks each at lowes for Black friday two years ago. I bought 6 of them and like others have said on a weekly basis at least 1 of them will drop wifi and not work without re pairing the bulb in the app. Someone said it was the worst smart product but its not worse than the wink relay imo. But yea second worst.
