Dell keeps killing my direct config links. Slickdeals effect.
To replicate the deal. Go to Dell's site, filter to R12, filter to Intel, get the absolute cheapest option as your base -- it should be $1077. Add the features below - it should total to about $2250. Use the coupon codes I mention below and you should be able to get one. I can find it, but when I post links they go dead almost immediately. That's 4 times Dell killed my links and they went to general pages -- I can't keep up with it, so I'll just direct you where to go instead.
Start here:
https://www.dell.com/en-us/member...12-desktop
Click the compare options. Start with the baseline model for $1077.99
Option I recommendations:
jump to 8 core/16 thread I7 11700f for $147
jump to 3080 for $852.60
jump to NVME at minimum for $30 (standard is 1TB platter drive)
jump to Dark Side of the Moon chassis w/ CPU Liquid Cooling and 1000W Power Supply. (Dark side of the moon is $30 cheaper than Lunar Light color) for $147
add the Alienware mouse for $2.94
Use coupons - 50off699 for $50 off
sign up for the dell 10% off mailing list subscription code and wait 20 minutes for it to arrive in your inbox. (worked for me event though I'd already signed up in the past - years ago?)

get ~$60 back in Dell Rewards that you can spend in 30 days after purchase.
Final price should be right $2000- $2050 shipped and taxed.
If you have the Chase card that is offering 5% rebate at Dell you can use that too. (I did not have that offer currently on my Chase card, but I hear some do)
Upgrade the RAM on your own to save money (or pay Dell $99 more to upgrade to 16GB of RAM)
Add a second hard-drive on your own to save money (or pay Dell X more to add from variety list of drive options)
10 day estimated shipping time.
Why is this good?
This is the newest Intel 11th series that just launched in the last week.
It has a 1000 watt gold efficiency power supply.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY;
The 3080 that this comes with sells for $2000 alone on ebay. Sell the graphics card and get a free PC, or keep the graphics card and mine crypto on this and sell the rest for $800 to $1K on ebay. Either way you are getting almost a free PC, or you are getting a $1000, 3080. Both are good options. If you just need a new system - this is about as good a deal as you can find right now for something with a 3080 in it.
3080's sell for $2k by themselves on ebay!!!

I'm not a youtuber, simply created this video for your benefit to maximize the performance of the unit. Here is a link:

"Dell Aurora R12 RTX 3080 Repaste and Fan optimization - Easy 30 degree temp difference fix!"
Enjoy.
I've done it twice now. Both times they delayed my shipment every month. My first order took 5 months of delays before they finally cancelled and gave me a crappy 10% coupon that expires in June. Everyone on reddit knows not to bother posting these dell builds because dell doesn't ship. They simply take your payment information, add you to their mailer list, sell your information to other companies, cancel your order and enjoy the profits of their farmed mailer list of people who want the latest technology.
Dell is trash tier right now, hell I'd even trust Newegg over Dell when it comes to 3080 products, and that's embarrassing to say.
https://www.ign.com/articles/dell...-hot-price <- IGN did an article on this already. It was full of $1500 3080 builds and links.
Trust me, these guys aren't shipping. Feel free to reply here with a picture of it actually arriving if you think you can prove me wrong.

Same here, I followed the steps in the video with the same Paste, but still get 95s...

I followed the YT video and put gobs of paste on just like they did.
Having 92 is still much better than 110, that's almost 20 degree improvement.
My 3080 was about 80 MH / s stock and with Afterburner tweaks around 95 MH / s.
Fan speed 100% + open case. Otherwise you won't hit 80s.

What are your MHz settings on MSI afterburn?
My current setting is at -300mhz core, +800mhz GPU ram freq. 70% power, 70%fan speed. The case is open, the PSU compartment is turned out to allow more space inside. (I am not sure if PSU location change much actually) [95.6 mh/s]
After these settings and thermal paste applications, I started mining at 90-92C when the weather was cold. As it became warmer, and I haven't run the AC yet, I started to get 95-96C averages. So I guess this happened because of the ambient temperature of the room but not anything related to thermal paste etc.
70% fan is the max I can bear in terms of noise. I've actually tried to put the PC in a closet with open door and increase the fan speed but the noise was too much. So I either need to find a cooling solution or somehow isolate the noise without suffocating the PC.
Anyway, I can try to work with thermal pads if it helps. Looking forward to suggestions.

Memory Clock is +1200
Power 70%
Temp Limit 75
Fan Speed 70
And I'm at 98mh/s. I'm also in the northeast, so the temp in my apt is around 68/70F, so that might play into it?
I just purchased the Logitech Brio 4K webcam. I had Dell Chat match a recent Tiger direct price for it and used my points to buy it. Excellent webcam as well as microphone!
Quit Alienware control center. You will get much better hashrate. Your GPU core clock should be set to -200 instead of +200.
