fark the congress. We will soon lose these fun toys because of "security concerns" that raised by those shitty olds sitting in the congress knowing nothing about coding or technology.

We understand the bigger picture and hate it. We have to create an enemy to push a narrative that doesn't really exist.

Banning DJI is silly non-sense.

It would be if the Avata didn't have quality issues.

Will this be part of the law that bans drone by FY25?

I am not seeing a traditional controller included on the listing or pictures.

If indeed this thing doesn't include one, personally that would be a hard pass for me unless you already own one. Flying a dedicated FPV drone with a motion controller is an absolute waste of potential.

As far as the Avata, I have one, but the durability claims dji makes are a bit of a joke. This thing absolutely cannot be flown like a traditional cinewhoop. The electronics onboard will not survive even mild impacts with hard interior surfaces.

Mine hardly gets flown and I regret purchasing it. My dji FPV is my go to outdoor "light freestyle" and my favorite cruiser. The FPV is a better aircraft overall in my opinion, but no dji models are appropriate for true proximity freestyle or indoor FPV flight due to cost and durability. Leave that to hobbyist models.

Has anyone used both the fpv v2 goggles and the dji goggles 2? I had the FPV drone for a while and didn't like the goggles that came with that. Are these much different if at all?

I have both and for the Avata, I prefer the Goggles2 and for the FPV I prefer the Goggles V2.

I really wanted to love the newer goggles but my wide IPD* made it so I could not see the small HUD elements in the lower and upper corners in their new design. The older goggles that shipped with the FPV drone , while a bit bigger, had completely different optics and to me they read clearly edge-to-edge. I think the biggest thing I miss not having the latest design is the new head tracking features though.

*my IPD is 69, well within their "IPD range so I call BS on their optics range specs.

same..

I have my stuff rooted as well

The avata goggles are oled and have much more detail, the FPV goggles have a higher refresh rate (dji might have increased the refresh rate on goggles2 by now idk.. )

It's all preference, but there's also a chart on which stuff all will work together ..

I'm kinda watching and waiting right now, I have been wanting to buy another avata but with this ban looming i think this might just be the first price drop with more to come before it goes into effect.. I do think there might be a run on some of this stuff, but dji kinda saturates the market with their iphone-esque release schedule trying to get people to spend 1k/year on the newest stuff that has diminished in being worth upgrading to year-over-year for a while... I am gonna keep my mavic 1 (best one for hacking into and software modding) .. .the FPV because it's just ... fun to fly a 100mph brick...

i have wanted an avata to do more "artistic shots" for various facets of hobby/job stuff.

and then my p4p (also hacked) but it's still the best mapping drone dji has made imo. and the best in low light for video.

I think i'll take my chances. I'll be happy with what i already have, the avata would be fun.. it'll be more fun at a lower price.

Spoken like someone who doesn't understand the big picture of why.
