this is a forgotten child vs regular platinum.

This carries no approvals besides api SP

regular platinum has jeep 13340, dexos 1 gen 2,

Since my jeep requires that spec.. I'll stick to pennzoil platinum..
Just stocked up 2 5qt jugs for $44 - $22 gas card (includes tax)

Slightly off topic here but when I was in Walmart yesterday I noticed they now have a new Supertech "Advanced" synthetic oil out. It was about $1.50 more than the regular synthetic oil. After watching Project Farm on Youtube Supertech is all I'm using now.

Used the cheapest oil at regular intervals of 5k miles and you are set.

Don't fall for the platinum goldplated ultra long lasting never change oil advertising.

I've been trying to sell a lawn mower but haven't gotten any interest. So you're saying I should raise the price to help get it sold?
Sometimes. Ex wife's uncle had a vegetable market, among other business interests. He said when the tomatoes started going bad, he'd raise the price. People bought them all up, thinking that there was a shortage, so took what they could get at a high price. It's all in the marketing.

Have you tried Wix filters? I've been using them for decades. They make high quality filters, better than most of the other brands. Their "XP" line oil filter is their best and designed specifically for synthetic oil.
If you're running your oil for 7500-10k miles I would also recommend changing your oil filter about half way through, especially if it's a cheaper filter. If the filter gets dirty enough it's gonna open the bypass valve and circulate dirty oil through the engine. A quality oil may be stable up to 10k miles before breaking down but that doesn't matter if the oil is dirty.
It seems like oil filters have gotten smaller. The stock size "048" filter on my '07 Silverado is only around 3" x 3" (the same size as the 25hp Koehler engine on my lawn mower). There's no way I trust a filter that small to go 7500-10k miles. I changed the "048" filter around every 3k miles regardless of when I changed the oil.
I haven't used an "048" in a long time. I use the "063" size filter which is almost twice as long (around 5" long) and it fits a GM 5.3L perfectly, the bottom of the filter doesn't go below the oil pan. I change that one at around 5k miles.
Wix is great and I've bought mine relatively cheap by the dozen at Filter One. On the other hand, be sure to check specs before switching out filter sizes. Offsets, bypass pressures, etc. If you don't know what I mean by this, you are not a good candidate for upsizing oil filters. And, you will likely blow your engine warranty by switching sizes, even if all measurements check out.

So you're saying gas prices never went up under Trump? LOL!!!!

Between the TX weather disaster and gas companies having low demand during lockdown (low demand = low prices) the gas companies are making up for lost revenue.

Has nothing to do with Biden directly.

Lmao. OK

I agree, but others here see it opposite, and one thing you have to take into account is the SUPPLY of that product.

During the lockdown of the previous year, oil prices were very low, supply was good, and demand was low so prices sank. When oil supplies are low, prices will rise (which we see every day here in California) as there is more demand. So yes, more demand typically means higher prices if supply doesn't also increase.

I thought Pen Synthetic was derived from Nat gas? Not sure how oil prices affect its price.
