The Kindle Scribe is on sale today for 28% off of its normal price of $389.99 (32GB). I've been waiting for the price to drop for now, so I pulled the trigger. You can also make this even slicker by trading In an old kindle device for an additional 20% off. I bought an old kindle off of eBay for cheap, and then traded it in for the additional 20%.

My final price was about $215, as I got 20% off, and got a $20 gift card for the old kindle I traded in. Hopefully someone else can benefit as well.

Edit: it seems that this discount is account specific, so it has been changed to YMMV.

It's showing up as 389.99 for me using the above link, is there anything else that needs to be done to get the 28% discount?

Also don't see a discount, just the regular 20% for trade in. It was on sale end of March and various times in April. So those still wanting one, your time will come.

How does it compare with remarkable? I am sure it was discussed before in other threads. One turn off was, I remember remarkable needed monthly service fee of some sort so did not go with it, not seeing this one needs any service? Appreciate inputs.

I saw the 28% off on the Kindle Scribe for both of my accounts (Prime and not Prime) for about half an hour this morning. Then the price changed back to retail for no reason! It's only a deal at discount price plus 20% trade-in. That's what I am trying to get. No more instant coupon for trade-in so I must time my trade-in accordingly.

Same here; saw it, put it in my cart, went to do some research on the pen, went back 5 minutes later and it was back at normal price. I didn't understand why. Thought maybe it was a flash deal or they weren't supposed to put it for sale yet. Amazon says their kindle devices are up to 50% off for mother's day...so maybe it will go back for sale soon'ish?
