Specially for a phone that takes 108megapixel and 8K videos.. This phone is screaming for storage space. Buying a 128gig.. with 80gig useable is like buying a super car with only 1 gallon gas tank capacity.

And you can brag your phone it is the best gaming phone , it so fast it can play 3D gaming at 120fps and above... but then you realized those games are 4gig and above to install and you do not have space to install them.

So no point really in buying this phone. All those special things about it are useless without storage expansion slot.

Just a quick review for people on the fence:

The S21 Ultra is as close to a perfect phone as I've gotten in the last 10 years of smartphone use. It literally does everything well: great screen, great performance, great battery, great camera, great sound from built in speaker, great under-screen fingerprint sensor.

To those whining about the memory slot- I've been an network admin for about 30 years now and deploy managed phones on a regular basis. I can count on one hand the number of people that have actually used the SD slot on their phones. Google is degrading support for external memory, and cloud storage makes a lot more sense for mobile devices since unlimited data has become a thing.

Google Photos- autosync photos/video
Google Drive- store music (or anything else)

These services are free, extremely reliable, and I've had no issues with them in years of use. I'm also a heavy phone user (we use a lot of apps for work) and my phone is seldom using over 64GB. On the S21 Ultra however the camera is a monster, so I would recommend getting the 256GB or 512GB model if you want to snap those max res pics or take 8K video.

My only gripes:
- I have to do a lot of setup to stop Samsung phones from acting like Samsung phones. Turning off Bixby, getting the app drawer to scroll the right way...things like that. Annoying.
- I dislike the rounded glass on the phone as it leads to a lot of accidental activations. I've hung up on people and screwed up apps taking the phone out of my pocket. A case lip seems to prevent a lot of this.
- There's no good way to protect the camera lenses. They poke out from the back of the phone quite a bit, and most cases don't cover them.

I mean I can think of a few reasons but it's very much a YMMV thing or even what you want out of the phone in the first place...anyways you cant expand storage (no sd cards) and one of the bigger things this phone is pushing is that it shoots in 8k if you plan to use that feature you get maybe an hour and a half until your out of space, and that's on an empty phone (no apps, no music, etc, etc).. even 4k going to chew up space like nobody's business. they are a bunch of other reasons but like i said it mostly hinges on how you want to use your phone.... far be it for me to tell people how to spend their money but if your not planning on using all or most of the features this phone is touting you have better and cheaper options

Does anyone have a recommendation for the note 20 or the s21 line? I'm annoyed with Samsung not providing a charger or the ssd. I have some Samsung credit/promo that would make pricing comparable.

Thought the same, but the screen and battery life is much better, not just a little better. They had massive sale on buds+ for $42 so it's prudent to upgrade at this point.

Haven't used 2N20 ultra, but I'd say no, it's not. If you have an S20 series, it's not worth it.

I sold my note ultra for 750 and put it towards this . The s21 ultra is a better designed phone with a slightly better camera . You will lose sd card support though . If you're not a hardcore phone geek id say keep the note the s21 is overall a better phone though
