Lowest price for this rather fast external SSD. I had the 1tb and love it! Just bought the 2tb. Smilie

I use the 1tb t5 on my PS5 and works flawlessly for keeping my PS4 games on external storage. Load times are pretty fast too (definitely faster than any disk hard drive but just a tad slower than the internal PS5 storage). I load a lot faster than my buddies on warzone using PS4 with this drive.

Yes, but only for previous generation games (Xbox One and PS4.)

Extra current-gen storage on the Series S/X requires the Seagate Expansion Card, and for the PS5 there is currently no means by which to expand the current-gen storage (there is a port available on the console, but it is not yet enabled.)

Despite being overkill, I'm tempted for PS5 storage of PS4 games.

(with tax) getting just a little to close to the 2TB T7 deals in recent history. sub-$200 (after-tax) would be optimal for this drive...

I have yet to see a T7 2TB drive drop below 249 before tax. You still have to pay tax on them, so this is a good deal for an external SSD, but I'd like to know if there is a retailer price matching that does not charge tax for these.

I do feel like prices are still going to continue to go lower.

You do need their store card though and that means you can't stack your usual credit card rewards (like Amazon's 5% cashback card). In CA where sales tax is like 9%, it's still the better option though.

I have a couple of these drives I use for work. When paired with a 3.1 card (or notebook port) to get full speed they are blazing fast. Definitely recommend for space strapped notebooks or people who want to store things on something they can connect/disconnect for safe storage.

Daaaaaaaaamn, I didn't realize it got that high! Last I remember it was 8.25% which was probably quite a bit of time ago. I remember it was easy to calculate a "decent" tip on a food bill was just double the tax.

T5s have mSATA drives inside. Not even M.2 SATA. Few modern devices have mSATA slots.
