i just bought this when it was last on sale. I really love it. Never knew what optical LK switches where like but i type much faster and quieter with them compared to the old cherry reds that you can hear across a room. its a really nice keyboard. you may eventually want to replace the caps but they are fine. I will never go back to cherry's after this.

I got two of these. They are great. The travel distance (3mm) is perfect. They are very quiet and smooth. There is no ping noise like others I have.

Thanks for the info. I was unsure how I felt about the optical switches but ordered one anyway. Now I'm really excited

I have the blue clicky version of this and am frankly pretty disappointed. If I had paid more than $35 for it it would have been an instant return. I'm keeping it as an emergency keyboard but it's really rattley and overall just kinda meh. I have a Logitech G610 with Cherry Brown, a Corsair K65 with Cherry Red, a Dierya DK61 Pro with Kailh Black, and a Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro with the Razer Green clicky switch.

At $50, I would not recommend this keyboard. The Logitech G610 was $50 on Black Friday previously and the DK61 Pro is regularly ~$60. I would completely recommend either of those over the Aether.

I probably wouldn't like an optical keyboard with blue switches either, but I'm really enjoying these lightstrike switches. Solid build and the red switches feel real nice.

I couldn't find another optical keyboard near this price. The G610 isn't optical. The Dk61 looks like a nice keyboard, but, unfortunately it's TKL

My only gripe so far is that it doesn't have dedicated media controls
