You should be recycling all batteries. They have heavy or rare or valuable metals that are easily recycled and can pollute groundwater. Don't throw them away.
I've been tracking this blower since it came out, this is the best price I've seen yet for the kit.
Blower alone was a front page deal recently at $109 including shipping. This is $150 +$7 shipping and you get the 5ah battery and a charger.
I picked it up last year at TSC for $150 and it was just tool and 5ah battery, no charger.
Plenty of reviews out there on these battery blowers. You're not moving an acre of wet leaves with this thing but it is great for cleaning out the garage, grass clippings, etc. it is my most reached for outdoor tool. Even use it to quickly and easily blow out the leaves in the gutters.

Best price was q4 at Home Depot for $99 after battery return; this way you don't need to get stuck with a 5ah when you might have even larger ones
Tbh there's not much of a niche for the 5ah unless they update the form factor
i have an electric Black and Decker that works really well. Im just so lazy i dont wanna grab the cord. Really debating this....
first world problems.
I was in the exact same boat. I had a perfectly functioning Black and Decker corded electric blower that never gave me issues, but dragging the cord around the home to different outlets got old fast. I upgraded to the first generation of this Dewalt cordless blower and have never looked back.
So I solved my first world problem but then realized that I'm also contributing to the global accumulation of dead 20V/50V batteries that just get tossed into landfills. There's no entire win-win.

I pulled the standard buy now think later on this. I currently have a backpack and decent handheld gas blower. I can't decide if have a third but electric one will be beneficial or not
How does this compare to the ego blower? Has anyone used both?
Ego is arguably top of the line with their battery blower but outdoor power tools is their niche. I would say the the Dewalt 60v blower, the DCBL772 would be the one comparable to the Ego blower.
This blower here, the DCBL722 is one of the better ones you'll get while staying in a 20v (18v) lineup. Yes the ego blower is better than this one, but the Ego lineup is much smaller and very focused with outdoor power equipment, there this blower will compliment anyone in the Dewalt 20v system.
