You can actually change the color. Mine came with Alienware control software installed. The LED can change to a wide variety of colors and pulsating or solid patterns, etc. Pretty cool.

It can be either blue or red.

does this have a PCIE power cable for GPU? want to swap the 1650 for a 1070
I got this desktop, am very unhappy as they are using OEM version of the GPU. It doesn't even have NVIDIA logo and not solid cooling fan as can be found in retail version. Really really disappointed, am worried if this is a low profile graphics card, because it is very small unlike anything I've seen for a GPU. It does have a power cable attached to the GPU I think 4 pin, and power supply is just 360W. To get high end gpu installed, you may need more than 360W also the desktop itself is very small. phew.. no wonder it is cheap.

Have missed the past few deals, is it worth buying this for my son who wants to do gaming, or should I spend a bit more and get him something more powerful?
I have a GTX 1050ti paired with 1st gen i7 4 core from 12 years ago. It can play all new games at low-mid settings at 50fps.

This comes with the GTX 1650 Super, which is 40% faster. And the i5 is a 6 core. I'd say get it. Unless your son is like 15 and he'll call you a noob, because it can't play Apex Legends on ultra high settings at 200fps.

LOL he is about to be 14 and we want to start doing more things like this as far as doing desktops, all he has ever known is laptops, so I should probably look for something a bit more powerful? What would you suggest I keep my eyes out for? Thank you.

That depends on what he plays. For the most part something like this with an extra stick of RAM to pump it up to 16gb and you'd be great. If he's playing Minecraft and Roblox or things like that you're more than good.

Depends on what you want to use it for. For productivity/office work, email, web browsing what 90% of people use computers for, they'll both perform extremely well. Though, the Mac Mini will probably feel a bit snappier. For photo and especially video editing, the Mac is going to outshine the Dell. It has a much better processor and a lot of programs are tailored to optimize it. For games, the because of its dedicated graphics card, the Dell is going to be able run a lot of games the Mini can't, and that's before you get into all the games that aren't available on OS X at all. But, that said, it's an older card. So don't expect it to be a modern AAA gaming powerhouse. The other advantage of the Dell is that you can upgrade it. It's easy and relatively inexpensive to add more RAM or storage down the road if you need it. I'd recommend adding another 8GB RAM stick ($40-50) and a larger SSD ($100-ish depending on size) right off the bat.

In a nutshell, they're both great machines that can do most things very well. The Mac Mini will perform a little better/faster. The Dell can play more games.
Thank you so much

My order confirmation says: Your credit card will be charged once your order has been shipped.

Nothing on my statement yet.

There's a chip shortage. Car makers even had to close factories because not enuff chips to install into new cars. Also 90% of chips are made from TSM in Taiwan and Samsung in Korea. Chip factories consume huge amounts of water and there's a water shortage in Taiwan.

That and more people are working from home. And those ppl staying at home need new laptops, get bored, decided to buy new GPUs to upgrade or build a system. Even Samsung can't make some phones due to chip shortages.

Dell can get GPUs cheaper cuz they have the buying power. And the more you buy, the more discounts the GPU makers give them. More demand + less supply = prices go up.

Just google or: https://arstechnica.com/cars/2021...m-hyundai/

I bought a GTX 1050ti 1 month before pandemic for $90.00. Now you you see them for $200 to $300. The MOAR you know....
Most of what you're saying is artificial though. People aren't working from home; at least not at the rate they were one year ago. You can tell this just by the traffic volumes on the road right now compared to a year ago (it's pretty much business as usual now). Most businesses are opened back up. Schools are opening back up now too so the demand for laptops/tablets should be back to normal on that front (the demand for those should've peaked last spring and now stabilized). And the global demand for new vehicles has been extremely low over the last year. I will admit that I did not know about the water shortage in South East Asia, but how much of that is real in the sense that it slows down production that much? Reason I say this is because this would equal a jump in cost across the board for all PC components (CPUs, motherboards, RAM, etc). I haven't seen that. In fact, when I was at Microcenter a few weeks ago I saw a lot of deals on those things. I'm not one to cry conspiracy, but the jump in GPU prices smells a bit like price gouging. Maybe the console manufacturers are behind it somehow in an effort to kill PC gaming. If that's the case, they're certainly succeeding.

You're correct it is gouging. It will take another 6 months for all these factories to ramp up fully including logistics to ship etc., but with China running full steam cheaper tech products are going to be pouring into the market like gangbusters by the end of this year.

Great idea as long as you don't need a working computer. No integrated graphics w this cpu
I listed mine for sale locally. I have an older 1080p low powered GPU that I installed after the initial setup. I paid $29.99 for it years ago, and I never had any issues with it. If I can't sell the 1650 Super locally, I'll just put it back in the computer. I'd rather not deal with eBay if I don't have to.

Edit: Sold the 1650 Super locally for $240. I wanted $250, but I'm not going to lose sleep over $10. Also if I sold the card on eBay, I would've cleared roughly the same amount. Good luck on selling your cards!

Anyone get this to work with a lesser video card? I shucked the 1650 and tried a 610 and an old ATI 5450 and get no video out. Put the 1650 back in and it works.
