AAFES has the LG 65" CX OLED on sale for $1849 for eligible patrons, and this is a TAX FREE purchase. Pulled this trigger this morning and will be picking it up at my local AAFES PX later today.

I had already ordered the Amazon deal from 2 days ago which came out to about $1920 for me after sales tax.... This beats that deal given no sales tax at AAFES. I canceled my Amazon order.

The 55 inch CX is $1349 as well:

I was able to get the B8 65" for $999 at the Bx two years ago in May. Maybe, they'll match it again?

F ing HATE it when SD puts the ad like it does, they make you think the 65" is $1349 at first glance... so you get excited... then disappointed shortly after

Yes, I am not sure why the admins (mods?) do this.... I certainly didn't post that confusion... I think because the 65" went OOS, they just left up the price on the 55".

Dammit that figures. Was thinking about getting it, but I guess it's just a little much still anyway. For $1750 I would jump on it.
It's available again for the same price. Says 5 left. yummy

Thanks but it isn't working to give the discounted sale price when I add it to cart. Shows up as $1998.99 for some reason when added. May just go with that other site since I can get the same price anyway plus 1% back if I use a different credit card.

Pull the freaking trigger and quit talking about it. "Sweet spot" lol. You are going to wait numerous months, if ever, for it to reach $1700. What's the point? It's a measly $150 you are debating over. You could be enjoying the TV this whole time, but no, gotta hit that sweet spot.

Just buy the TV soon. You'll be glad you did and you can quit coming here and talking about it
At times you can end up waiting for that sweet spot until the TV is no longer available at all. I purchased at BB the other day. I am sure not the best deal, but $1949. Sam's also had it for $1949 with $100 gift card, but nothing in stock within 150 miles, so pulled the trigger. Was missing the AV cable adapter, and a TV at this price should have an HDMI cable IMO. My 4K Sceptre came with one Wink.

Yeah but does Costco warranty cover burn-in?
That's only reason I didn't get this since only way to get warranty that covers burn-in from all the online research I've done is BestBuy. Not to mention BestBuy will come and pick up messed up TV for you. Only downside is gotta pay tax and comes out way more expensive getting it from BB so decided not worth it in end.
This definitely good deal if you are able to get at least a couple of years out of TV without burn-in or some other part of TV not working. Personally haven't had much luck with 4K TV's myself last few haven't made it past 2 year mark Frown

So how's your B8 holding up after 2 years?
Any burn-in or any other issues with it?

Not sure if any of the companies have a tie up with lgpartnersmall. My employer does and I was able to get substantial discounts on the CX ($1700) 3 months ago. This applies to other appliances like washer driers, refrigerators etc.

My C8 is holding up very well but I'm very conscientious when it comes to burn-in risks and I have the screensaver set on my PS4 for 5 minutes. I also don't use cable TV so no risk from news logos.

The one gripe I have about it is Dolby Vision (particularly on Netflix, prominent in shows like The Haunting of Hill House) will flicker during dark scenes as if the TV is trying to decide whether to keep the scene dark or lighten the scene's darkness.

Thanks for info!
But yeah flickering at low levels seems to be a problem with lot of OLED devices for years now. I returned my iPhone 12 because of it dunno if they ever fixed it. Samsung actually says to turn up brightness in their support pages for this issue laugh out loud and Vincent of HDTV test has mentioned this issue for years on his OLED TV reviews too. I believe he calls it low luminance chrominance bug or something like that! But yeah they also been talking about it for years on AVSForums too LMAO I don't recommend visiting if you wanna find even more flaws in your expensive TV LMAO
Haven't noticed it on my S7+ tablet tho so far tho Smilie
