Here's the thing about Lowe's "events." You can sign up for them and they will cancel without telling you (or themselves). They'll simply decide when you show up that they don't feel like having it because they don't want to spare the employees on a particular day. I'm sure it doesn't happen at all Lowe's, but I've signed up for their freebie events before and learned the hard way. You show up, then they're running around 20 minutes trying to decide if someone wants to do it. Last time I showed up to one, I signed up about a week in advance and was there about 10 minutes before it was supposed to start. Manager said they weren't going to do it, but to call him back personally Monday morning and he'll schedule a personal make up session for me. So I called Monday, and he wasn't even there that day. Called Tuesday, talk to the same manager and he complained about having to do it. Now I don't even bother.

Great deal/event if you have a Lowe's with good management that will actually follow through with their events.

Thanks. How large is the tree sapling? Is it 1 gal or smaller?

So not worth it! Yeah free but the hassle.is far greater. No signs at my Lowes and had to walk up to customer service and waited. No one but one individual knew about it then they pulled out the box. Wish I didn't water the time Frown

Strolled over to Lawn & Garden at about 6:30, and it was starting to rain. I asked an employee, and she just handed me 2 ~1ft Loblolly Pines without looking up my registration.

I'm in NC and was extremely disappointed to find out it was a pine tree.

I mean, who the hell wants to plant a pine tree in their yard and have to deal with all of the pollen, pine cones, and pine needles? No thanks.

I walked right on by. Complete waste of time.

I am in Michigan and I got a red pine. Just the tree in a bag and a care card.

Thanks all for the updates.
Yeah I got a "loblolly pine" too .. pretty disappointed, its just a small sapling and not even a 1 gallon plant.
I didn't get any seed packets though.

I think the seed packets were from other events. I don't know what pine I got. No care card. LOL

But it did say 'sapling' when signing up so its clear it was never going to be a 1 gallon plant. No matter what people were hoping for.

Got a foot long pine tree, checked the variety and said it was good for moist soil or even clay, which I think means it's suitable for growing in Texas.

Wow that tree event was the worst so far lol. Lowe's really knows how to lower the bar and then bury it. 🙄
