The only reason we talk about wattage is because Nvidia is a freaking piece of garbage company for removing proper naming conventions and having everyone guess actual performance. This is a consumer nightmare having to figure out if the 3060/3070 you're getting is actually the good one.

A lot of last year's RTX 2060 were 80W because that was the initial TDP of RTX 2060 and nVidia released the refresh 110W version on early 2020. Are you saying all those RTX 2060 laptops were poor performing? Can you show us some reviews? Lenovo Legion 5, both Intel and AMD Version, are considered some of the best gaming laptops at that price and having a 80W RTX 2060.
Let's not to conclusion based on your assumptions and ignoring the facts.

Review of the Intel variant. But the wattage on GFX card is the same. I think I'll keep loving my Gateway Creator RTX 2060 for $699 lol

I would go for a RTX2070 with 8gb of ram. It should hold you for some time.. Thermals can be reduced with liquid metal quite well on CPU.

In Far Cry it was terrible for a 3070. Frame rates jumping all over the place, and barely beats a 2060! The only saving grace is that it beat the Asus models with a 3070 (which barely beat a 1650 ti!)... and that's the only comparison he did.

The i7-10750H is literally half as fast as mine running Cinebench. Many of these new gaming laptops have serious issues and this is one of them. Not only do we have a major shortage it looks like the stuff that is getting made is half-assed. MadConfused

That could part of it since the CPU power and temperatures are fluctuating wildly in Far Cry. But... not in Assassin's Creed. The temps don't ever get over 90C though, so it shouldn't be throttling yet.

I'm wondering if the dynamic boost implementation really sucks? If so, it's a common issue on 3000 series laptops.

And if you look at the Cinebench runs the CPU is power throttling to only 35W and the temps are <60C! And only 2.7GHz... at 35W mine runs at 3.4-3.5GHz. And in Cinebench all cores are at 4.3GHz (~69W) and my best score is 3390. That seems like a separate problem that might be simple to fix.

Personaly I was thinking of getting https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=6448933 . I realy wanted a AMD Ryzen and to be under a 1k but it look like they are all over 1k and the it is core I7 at that for that price point.

Anyone is there a difference in TDP between the config with Ryzen 7 and the Ryzen 9? Is the 3070 going to be more powerful with the R9?
