FR, these delivery services are for lazy or desperate people. I rather pick up.
Uber eats is incredibly overpriced unless you're able to get $100 gift cards for $80 at Costco. Once you get those, use your Chase card to pay for them and get 5% more back through the end of the month. Making the cost $76 for the gift card. That is the only way Uber eats makes any sense. Otherwise the delivery fees and all of the other expenses are completely prohibitive. Not to mention, the restaurant owners all raise their prices to cover the costs to them for offering us the service. Just call the restaurant directly!
Anyone know if Uber or Uber eats has put out a statement regarding the Washington DC Incident yet? They sure were quick to show support when it was the other way around

I don't understand why SDers hate food delivery apps so much. Just don't use the app if you don't like it.
For many of us, it's a great way to eat out without going out. Sure, as a consumer you always look for the best prices, but no one is forcing you to use them if you don't want to.
Also, 25 to 55 is an over exaggeration. At most there's be 4.5 dollars service fee + delivery fee (usually less than a dollar) + tax (which you'd be paying at the restaurant too anyway) + tips (delivery tips are less than server tips anyway)

Agreed, I think food delivery services are useful for old, disabled people and families with both parents are super busy, or during winter months where people don't feel like going out etc,.
