I have had this monitor for a very long time. Surprised it is still made. I will say that it is fantastic. I have it next to an IPS 60hz 4K, and prefer this all day long (FYI...color calibrate my monitors with hardware). VA panel contrast is just so good when I compare them side by side. The stand is actually better than most static stands you would see, but VESA requires an adapter that was not included (You can 3D print the adapter [thingiverse.com]). Can you find better, probably, but you will pay for it. You also have to ask yourself if you want to support MSI after their video card controversy (Web search if you are not familiar).

As far as needing more than 100 FPS(Hz)...I can't personally tell a difference between the 2K 144Hz IPS I have (different computer) and this MSI. Also, to get 144 you need a very high end graphics card for most modern games, and good luck with that right now. I am sporting a Radeon 6800 (PowerColor Fighter) on one computer, and an RTX 3070 (MSI Gaming X Trio) on another. Something like Overwatch, or an older game, I can hit 144 with ease, but Cyberpunk 2077...no way.

To me 100 fps is the sweet spot for graphics with good frames. Also, to add a note that is kind of separate from this as many of you may also be looking at a graphics card. I will say that the 6800 flat out spanks the 3070. Not even close. The only time the 3070 does as good or better is with ray tracing. The percentage hit is much harder on the AMD card than the 3070, but I mainly notice reflections only when running RTX, so typically only turn that on for the few games I have that take advantage of that.

Edit: FYI..If you have an issue buying from a company like MSI, urlhasbeenblocked (an American company I believe) makes good monitors for a good price. I have a similar monitor from them as this MSI. It looks just as good, but did take more calibration to get the color right. I think they also have a no dead pixel policy and 3 year warranty. I did email them some questions before I purchased the monitor, and they responded within an hour. So thumbs up to their support.

Edit 2: Read Newegg's return/exchange policy before buying from them. I like to buy from them, but their monitor exchanges (bad pixels, etc.) are very strict. My 4K IPS has one dead pixel right in the middle, and am stuck with it.

Edit: 3: Blind Hz testing. Can you really tell the difference?

Depends on what games you like to play and what hardware you own. Anything graphics-intensive probably isn't getting over 100fps at ultra-wide 1440p anyway.

That costs more and isn't curved, only better if you just REALLY want more frames.

Best of both worlds would be to wait for the monoprice equivalent which goes on sale for this price regularly

Great info. Is this a good buy (~$400 budget) for For next gen console gaming, if coming from a Dell 4K U2720Q?

I tried a bunch of monitors this past year, the Dell U2720Q is pricey but amazing. I was also considering the U3219Q (if found same price as the 27). Thoughts?

Costco's return policy alone is worth the extra $$$ for the piece of mind. It is retarded good.

I've been using this monitor for about a year with my gaming PC and really like it. Good bang for buck IMO.

True that. Jumped onto the Costco deal yesterday. Chase Freedom 5% CB (Ending 03/31) made it even sweeter.

My concern is that it is a 21:9 display, and I believe the consoles will only output 16:9. You would have the black bars on the left and right. It may be good if you have PC/Console gaming on the same monitor, but have not tested. From what I understand the PS5 also has trouble with 1440p if that is your console of choice. Also, for the latest consoles you would want a monitor that has an HDMI 2.1 port and HDR to get the most out of it. The problem is going to be the price and availability (Still new). You can check this link [tweaktown.com]out for what is coming out. If you could swing an LG CX 48" OLED, I hear they work great as a PC monitor and great for gaming. I can back up the "Great for Gaming" as I have the 65" version with the PS5, and you can't put into words how it looks. The CX series has been going on sale as it is a 2020 model, but it will still run you over $1000.

Just for comparison: If I am not mistaken, a comparable LG is currently on sale for $400 @ Costco.
I bought LG from Costco - now i am confused should I return and get this?

Why the heck does Nvidia confuse people like this. They just need to call it gsync, and adaptive sync instead of referring to adaptive sync as "Gsync compatible". With that said, didn't Nvidia add Freesync (Gsync compatable) over HDMI 2.1, or was that just Gsync?

Is this your monitor [costco.com]? If you are not gaming you are probably fine (and probably fine if gaming as many can't tell a difference after 60Hz). Nothing wrong with that LG. However, the curved screen and 100Hz may be better. Also, LG is typically IPS and not VA displays. IPS will give you a little better color accuracy, but the contrast will be worse. I prefer VA, but many like IPS. Also, flat screen vs curved. I prefer curved for gaming, but that is personal preference. I love the MSI monitor, and have had it a while. So much of monitor choice is subjective though. If Newegg had a better return policy I would say to order it and compare, but if you need to send it back to Newegg because you like the LG, you may have an issue. Good luck with your choice. I am guessing you will be happy with either. A great problem to have isn't it Smilie?

I don't think PS5 plays nice with 1440p. Also, you would have black bars on the left and right.

How is this one compared to the Dell for $380? Is the dell a lot better bang for the buck?
