Moral of the story -- warehouses are filled with suits. Nobody's really buying them, and may never do so again for most office settings. The paradigm was shifting before covid, but a nail has been driven in the heart of the suit culture. Sure, men and women may still need them from time to time, and certain occupations require - but the drop off is accelerating. Of course, I did buy two - but for $60, I had a nice suit for the next wedding/funeral/holiday party/social event. It will cost me more to tailor the suit than the suit cost.
Shop around.

Blue. Black is only for funerals.

Did you get taller? S is for short...
Suits are tricky especially when you get into tailored body shapes like slim fit. I'm a 40L but not every 40L feels right or looks right.
S is short. R is regular. If S fit before you'd probably only need a R if you got taller or your last suit was borderline long enough.
I'd recommend not buying a suit online if you do not have a local store to return it to or an online return process you are comfortable with. If you do, why not buy both and return the one that doesn't fit? That's what I do when buying clothes on Amazon.
