It'll convert for 1/3 the time, meaning it'll add 4 months. The best play is to wait until your Ultimate expires, then activate 3 of these and do a conversion.

I never know why this question always gets asked. Yes, once your Ultimate sub expires, you'll be converted to a "normal"/free Xbox membership, from there you can subscribe to Ultimate again, or subscribe to a Gold membership; same as it's always been.
