Isn't this the 'regular' price for the filter?

I agree that in general I would avoid Fram. I do think tests made on their premium filters have had good results. However, I'm not sure why this would be posted on SD at this price. Maybe at $6.50 or less.

Friends don't let friends use fram, for the same amount of money or even less there are so many better options out there. Avoid the orange can of death like a chick with herpes.
And you no proof this specific filter is bad.

Lack of evidence does not mean a statement is necessarily invalid. For example, if you have a few people die from eating cyanide, you're probably not going to eat any more cyanide. Doesn't matter that you don't have a lot of evidence, you don't want to die.

That aside, you could literally go out and buy an OEM filter for this cost. A bit silly to get Fram.

Any Fram is fine, all fear mongering on youtube. Much better that anything they put on your car at jiffy lube. Also even the basic fram is better filtering efficiency than any OEM filter. The XG line is very high quality.

If you've ever been on that site you'll know that any Fram is well regarded on that site. The tearing fillters are Purolator and Motorcraft. I'd avoid those.

Besides all the other banter on whether or not Fram is worthy to by, this does appear to be the regular pricing then (same I bought it for in November, same it was last week when I was deciding between this and ended up buying a Purolator One).

If it were on sale also, maybe, but the subscribe and save off of the regular price is always an option on this...so, not bad (for everyday pricing) just not sure I'd exactly call this 'slick'.

No, this is like OP presenting you with a GT-R and this ignorant dude is saying Nissan sucks 'cause they also make the Sentra. (price difference withstanding)

Why do people assume oem is best?
