A lot of people saying the crabgrass preventer doesn't work (or any lawn product really) but also a lot of people might not be applying it at the right time.

I work for Michigan State University and found this handy tool. You can put your location in, pick what you are trying to do (ex: crabgrass preemergent) and it shows you the time to do it based on GDD and soil temp at 2" deep. So where I am located this week is optimal. Very helpful.

I rather use the automatic spreader, which is also use for salt on my driveway in the winter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011HY5...XBJVRXFW1E

Does anyone know if the northern lawn package is the same as the 4 Step package being offered in the other deal for ace hardware?

From what I can find it doesn't look to be quite the same as it, the 4-step package is a Ace exclusive as well though it does look to be somewhat similar

Amazon Set has: Ace Set has:
Main difference looks to be the 3rd bag that is included.

Sorry about that. Fixed it. No idea why it went to that one. I had it pulled up on my phone and copy/pasted. All good now.

The one at ACE is for all grasses. I got that on 4/1 with additional saving. I paid $47 for the set for 5000sqft.

It looks like there are three different types of pre-emergent crabgrass control. Which one to use? I live in the northern US with four seasons
