Reviews seem somewhat mixed on these, anyone have any experience?

I don't have this particular one, but I do have the other Irwin light-duty right angle clamp and find it super helpful to support joints when securing pocket screws or holding butt joints square and steady for nailing. I think some people have unrealistic expectations of the holding power of these clamps hence the mixed reviews.

Of all the corner clamping devices out there, this type, are the worst.

At the moment, the only option at Lowes is "truck delivery" for $84 dollars. Looks dead at Lowes too.

Instead, using a good brand of this style with some easily learned technique and some cardboard shims for working with less than perfect miter joints angles will result in much greater success and less frustration than the single-pull style of this Irwin. I use these all the time and they are very good at pressing a tight miter together once you figure it out. Limited to 2.5" jaw opening, but otherwise a good tool. Avoid over-tightening them, apparently, the quick-release is a weak point. Mine have been fine for several projects and are several years old. https://www.menards.com/main/tool...c-9135.htm
