My UPS My Choice subscription was expiring and I wasn't willing to pay $40 and couldn't find a promo code, so I let it expire. A few days later I was looking at my dashboard and saw a bubble with the following:
"Need more control of your home deliveries? Become a UPS My Choice Premium Member and get enhanced features like delivery upgrades, unlimited delivery day or address changes and more! A yearly subscription is now only $19.99 (formerly $40)."
I don't know if it's permanently $20/year for everyone or targeted, so YMMV.
The advantages of a membership are delivery holds and changes (which should be free), and automatic upgrades of UPS SurePost packages to UPS Ground.

A few years back I signed up for a free 1 year trial of this thru an SD deal. At some point in the future I received a letter from a collection agency looking for $40 that UPS had sold to them as a delinquent account. UPS had billed me at some point but I assumed that if I didn't pay they would simply not renew the trial subscription. Bottom line: if you sign up for this you may be expected to explicitly cancel it or you will end up talking to a collection agency. To be fair on UPS, after some phone calls they dropped the claim but it left a bad taste in my mouth, not least because I never actually used the membership.

What number(s) did you call and what did you have to explain to have them drop?
Only benefit that I ever got (which not even sure I needed this to do) was reroute a package set to be delivered UPS thru USPS and it was important so I was like "HELL NO" and kept it with UPS ground for like $3 extra.
EDIT: Looking thru the invoices, they are charging me a weekly service charge of $15.45?? This is nuts - total for past 3 months is $193?? This doesnt seem like My Choice service at all. Maybe a PSA for folks to check their accounts?
