For over a decade (maybe closer to two) I installed Malwarebytes (free version) as a secondary scanner to run monthly but a few months ago I uninstalled it - very frequent taskbar reminders (or pop-ups - I can't remember which) were a big distraction. Hopefully not an issue on the paid version.

Maybe it sounds like I'm being ungrateful so I'll throw a pitch in its favor - for browser redirects to malicious websites it does a far, far better job of protection than Microsoft Defender. A few years ago browser redirects were a common occurrence on Slickdeals:

I was already a customer but my license was due to expire soon, I was able to purchase and add to my account within minutes of ordering.
I know they're never bringing back licenses that don't expire, but I'm never giving them a dollar until they do.

Great find. Can this be used for renewals or just for new accounts?

Will this add on to the length of your current subscription? So say you are six months into your one year subscription, does it make it two years total or just one and a half years? I guess I could always just wait to activate it when my current subscription is ending.

Nope it can't extend that, but I go through enough of the licenses, you can purchase and then change the license to that one when its expiring, when you activate its good as of that date. If you did the Office 365 that extends it

Recently got a bad virus on my PC. Mcafee did not notice it. I had it do a full scan and nothing. Installed Malwarebytes and it took care of it right away. Great software.

Got rid of Malwarebytes Premium after numerous instances of the active protection causing system hang-ups or breaking my network connections to file shares and other remote items. Can't recommend it anymore as they can't seem to stay on top of keeping it compatible with new Windows 10 builds.

Personally I have had the same issue with their "App Block" enabled on my Mac, running it with Malware Protection enabled but not App Block seems to work great.

They used to sell "lifetime" licenses. At that time it was about $20. Dang, I should have purchased more than one then!

Same. Found out my random BSODs were because of Malwarebytes Premium, which wasn't fixed the last time I checked the forums. Also had other issues with it on my Macbook.
