This is a good deal.
I would recommend calling around locally if you need a large quantity.
My wife called a farm up the road from us and they charge $20yd for garden soil (not screened) And $30/yd for screened soil (larger items like mulch are sifted out).
I had good luck last year planting grass seed using screened soil.
The miracle grow comes out to $72 / yd vs $30 if I buy locally. I'm so close they waive the delivery, but if you have a pickup it may work for some. (Farm also doesn't charge me tax 🤫)
Again, this is a good deal, but I would call around if you need more that 10 bags or so. I'm sure location matters, Im in NJ and happen to be close to a lot of farm.
I will add the convenience of transporting bags vs having to shovel into a cart and dump should not be ignored. Very easy to toss a bag into the garden bed, cut open and dump.

On the other hand, I've been using this in my garden for years. It feeds very well. We have clay heavy soil, so I dig a hole and throw about a cubic foot of this in the ground. Plants do really well all season with little to no supplemental feedings.
fyi, the Whitney Farm soil in costco was organic. this one seems not.
I'm sure others can advise much better than I can as to proper soil for various purposes... But I used the soil from the farm to plant grass seed last fall. I had a lot of area to cover so it made sense.
We used the miracle grow garden soil to fill the garden beds that we made (just ground contact pressure treated pine- pocket hole screwed to make boxes).
We tilled the soil, leveled it a little, put boxes into position , and put cardboard down. We then put the bags of miracle grow into the garden bed, cut open with utlility knife, and easily poured the dirt out.
Last year was our first attempt at a garden and it seemed to have worked fine.

BTW, I did use this for my large pots last year. I mixed in the dirt from the petunias, too.
The flowers did okay, but I agree that it is best to use potting soil or a mix of that and this (depending on how big your pots are and the drainage conditions).
