Saw this in the flier I got in the mail and it seems like a pretty good deal. Memory comes with one 4 and one 8 gig chip but you can upgrade if you'd like. Wish it had a better screen resolution but for $500, it'd be great for standard home use.

Screen Resolution: 1366 x 768.

What is the point of having all these other decent specs and then having this terrible screen resolution....

Great specs overall.
The HDD can be easily upgraded for around $106 for 1TB 2.5 SSD. If you want something at 500GB or less, your cost goes down to around $50. The webcam quality on this computer is poor. Something to keep in mind if you are using this for travel.

Is this one on sale? Or just regular price? I don't see any $xxx OFF in the product page.

Yeah. That's why I I said I wish it had a better screen...

It's a clearance model (according to HP) so it's probably been around for a while.

I find myself replacing the HDDs of most laptops anyways, this laptop is a great deal and has amazing specs... if it wasn't 1366 x 768. Seriously, why?

I had a friend I was helping today who was looking for a laptop and recommended a different one from Costco $30 more but had the 1920x1080 screen and SSD. Of everywhere I checked it was about the best deal I could find. He didn't need touchscreen and wanted SSD and at least 12gb Ram.

Ooo, I actually like that one better smaller but better screen and an SSD already. Just need a RAM upgrade if 12 isn't enough. Thanks for posting.

better deal than current post

edit: this one doesn't have a touch screen, not a deal-breaker for me as I never use touch screens on my current Dell Inspiron.
