I have been waiting for this to go on sale but now that the EGO is out I am really torn between spending a bit more. I have a 1 acre property so only need the 75ah so the EGO is quite a bit more money and not sure that it really is justified. Also...you can't buy the EGO. I am also considering a gas Cub Cadet since that seems to be a great machine too, but I love the idea of no maintenance. I posted on Reddit to get opinions on electric vs. gas and got some good advice that may be helpful for those of you considering this (or just makes the decision that much harder Smilie

Debating on paying a lawn service at $55 a pop to cut my lawn until these go on clearance or to just roll with it! Anyone else in the same dilemma?
You could be looking at 440 a month for the cutting service depending on your grass growth rate. You'll be lucky to see them clearance until the season is over so May-September. That could easily exceed 2k in grass cutting fees. Oblivious that depends on where you live, type of grass and personal preferences.

If you really want to go the whole season maybe see if a lawn company near you offers a package deal.

Personally I'd hold off on this. The Ego is a way better option in my opinion. Better specs, uses the Ego batteries which are awesome, and includes 4 of the 10ah batteries which can be used in all of their tools. You can also add up to two more batteries to cover 3 acres. I'd love to eventually get one.
I picked up an Ego Z6 last week. Lowes 10% off coupon works on it, so $4500. Battery life/degradation was a big concern for me, so the Ryobi was a non-starter. Planning on bringing the battery packs inside over the winter. Swappable lithium ion battery packs make that and a lot more possible.

I really want one of these but it's at a premium right now. Not even lithium cells. SLA batteries will maybe last 5 seasons if your lucky and take care of em. You'll lose like 10% capacity each year. At $2k I'd be interested.
Yeah this is my problem as well. This is Cub Cadet ZT2 50 range, and that's too much for a pro-sumer level zero turn. I want the EGO, but there's no way I'd ever pay $5000 for it.. If the SLA batteries weren't so annoying to store over winter, and didn't have the break-in, it's be still too much to pay.

I am actively shopping in the 2-4k range for a mower, and have gone back and forth on these nice, but way ovepriced-for-no-LiON-battery mowers.

In the end I'll end up with a lite-commercial unit for the same price that will last, but sadly won't be electric. I'll happily keep using my EGO push mower and power tools on battery at least. The Ryobi, CC, EGO, etc options have all been pathetically poor for riding electric. 4 years too early to get what I want.

This mower should be $2600 or so max.. the EGO should be under 3000 with only 4 battery packs. I can't wait til SK and Samsung get domestic production rolling.

Highly recommended. I was hesitant to take the leap because it was so new and had no reviews yet, the batteries (not lithium), the price, etc. But I jumped. I've had this exact setup since its introduction (about 2.5 years ago) and it's exceeded _all_ expectations. L.O.V.E. this thing.

It mows our 20,000sqft of lawn plus both sides of a 1/2 mile driveway on a single charge. No fuel, no oil changes, just unplug and mow.

I forgot to add that we also use it to dethatch, sweep and tow a 22 cu.ft. Polar garden cart.

Cub Cadet also has a Lithium Ion electric mower. I saw one on display at Home Depot. 42" cut, zero turn, "up to 2 acres". $4500. (actually, they have a few different models).

https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/ri...yiEALw_wcB

The thing I like about the cub cadet over the the Ryobi and Ego is that it is the same steel frame and chassis as their gas engine powered unit - not a lot of plastic parts on it. The Ryobi had a lot of plastic on it, and it seems like those parts would break/crack in a short time.

My cutting service is only $55 / cut so figure at most $220 a month for about 4.5 months

I have it bookmarked [lowes.com] and refreshed 20x a day. When one shows up within 75mi of the store you have selected you will be able to add it to cart for truck delivery. They are shipped locally from local stores only. Since I bought mine I've seen it in stock and available to order just about daily (for a short period of time). Again, it will depend on where you are located but they seem to be trickling in one or two at a time at various Lowes.
