End of April is definitely the best time to buy a TV period. Not BF or Super Bowl, end of April due to the PLANO/New Model swap. Coming from someone who used to work in this industry for 10+ years. 😉
Most manufacturers set a rock bottom price for selling units just to keep the models seeming prestigious. A lot of times it's way above their wholesale price...example a partner may pay $2600 for a TV that has a rock bottom price of $3100. That seller may want to sell the TV for $2900 because that satisfies their profit margin...but that would be a violation of their selling agreement technically.

To sell below that price, I've seen sellers go as far as calling things "open box" and it really is a factory sealed box with untouched items inside. This happened when I bought a LG oled in 2016...said open box and wasn't ever opened...so I called the store(not a large retailer like best buy...a smaller operation) and they told me all of this. They even had a white glove company delivery the TV and unpack it and remove all the materials from my third floor apartment after I tested it.

I'm guessing that's what they are implying by "scuffed box" is that it is perfect but they are pricing below rock bottom.

Thanks,
Dustin
When people come into my garage, I don't want to be embarrassed by a giant scuffed box waiting to be recycled. I want a deal but this is uncivilized!

These seem like good prices. I was told at Best Buy that at the end of April - is when the prices will really drop on these TVs. Do you guys think it is worth waiting - or go with these? I am not familiar with Buydig.com. Are you a good place to make a purchase like this from?
Thanks for the post and advice

I didn't realize it was possible to order a large item from the internet without the box being scuffed up

So where is the deal? This would be a terrific deal in 2015 maybe.

The price of a 65 inch LG OLED TV in 2015 was $9,999. History is fun.

I think that guy was just joking... unless the logic is that maybe it damaged the tv.

Nonetheless, we will see prices equal to or lower than this brand new with no scuffed box to worry about within a month (at least for the LGs). I'd continue to wait.

I know that moldy foot finger has the 77 cx for 2850 right now without tax and should go down soon as well. The q80T looks like a good deal and would be the lcd I would get but also I think that Rotten hoof digits has offered 2700 on the CX and probably will again.
